Yesterday our surgeon at Great Ormond Street has given the okay for my daughter to be a bit more active. Can now go swimming, join in on with most school PE, learn to ride a bike (Guess what we spent £300 on today!) and even come climbing with me

And her twin learned to ride his bike yesterday

I graduated with my master's degree this year, so I had student expenses (deductable), but then a real income after graduating. I also had child care expenses related to my education and other required education expenses not related to tuition (all tax deductable). My wife and I also had our second child this year in November, so another huge deduction (and related credits). We sold our home and I wasn't sure how much of that would get taxed, and we moved states, which means paying state taxes for both (one of which I wasn't familiar with).

So, yeah, I probably over-withheld, but I actually don't mind it. I'd rather get $3200 back than be told I owe $500+. The past few years in Idaho we've gotten ~$250 back from Federal taxes, but then owed most of it to Idaho. With all the changes this year I didn't want to take any chances.

 

Just had an awesome weekend at the carnival in Cadiz, and thanks to going there by motorcycle have a rather lovely lady wanting to have a go on the back of it. Win!

 

I got a new shotgun about a month ago and as of Sunday every time I've taken it out I've shot a new personal best (including a 53/60 at a local private shoot). Much heavier than the old one though so I'm still a little sore in the arms but I'm still chuffed to bits with it.

 

Three day trip with a mate to Granada tomorrow to finally try out staying in a hostel, should be a good new experience.

 

My room has been let out, so i need to be out by Monday, but the good news is I'm viewing a house tomorrow and have a job interview on Friday! whoa

 

Got a letter out of the blue from the electricity supplier announcing a 5% price drop.

 

I think that's less awesome and more 'justified'
