In other news, Mercedes have revealed the new safety and medical cars. AMG GT S safety car: C 63 S medical car:
The medical car always sounded the best.... the C63 AMG.... that engine sounded like thunder! Much better than anything else at a F1 event - including the F1 cars!
Used to love the safety car a few years back when we had V10's you would hear the low growl of it roaring along followed by the screaming high pitch cars.
Spaniard Roberto Mehri is Manor F1's second driver, with Brit Jordan King being their reserve/development driver.
Mclaren 3.6 seconds off the pace, 25 laps between the pair of them. Admittedly K-Mag stuffed it into a wall, but that's still awful. Ferrari looking better than recent times, maybe it's Ferrari's turn (like Massa last year) to show that they weren't the weak link in the relationship either.
It's quite telling that McLaren are hoping Manor run cars for no other reason than it means they [in theory] won't be last... and Sauber is one giant cluster**** [of their own making] atm...
Even if Manor do run in the race it's still entirely possible that Mclaren will end up last, Manor only have to make it half distance and they're all but guaranteed to beat Mclaren.
Very true, Manors car is basically laste years car with last years Ferrari lump in it. That package was pretty reliable to be honest.
i think if one team starts to run away with it again this year... the entire rest of the grid should turn up to a race with Golf Caddies
I'm half expecting to see JB and KM in the garage at half distance, playing Mario Kart. Seriously though, I am expecting them to be dead last and using the laps for testing purposes.
I like your thinking! Montreal could be a bit dull though. The wall of champions wont see any action True, also first few snaps of manors car have surfaced
Well I knew McLaren were going to struggle, but didn't think it would be quite this bad! The Merc is even more mighty than I thought, there should be some good battles between Williams and Ferrari, and Redbull/Torro rosso to add some excitement to the mix though.
McLaren are 5 seconds of the ultimate pace and 3.5 seconds behind the rest. It's a big ask to see them challenging for race wins before the season ends. There P1 road car would be faster around the track than the current f1 car. I'll be shocked if they go past half distance tommorow. The battle for best of the rest looks so close between Ferrari Williams and redbull going to be fun to watch that. Merc are the class of the field it's not just the engine that gives them such performance they have a very well designed car and it shows by how it handles. It looks a lot more planted to the track than any car whilst going a lot faster. Happy to see Ferrari challenging towards the podiums again though.
Well, history appears to be repeating itself, Button is driving for Honda again, so naturally they've dumped him at the back of the grid. With any luck, Honda will abandon them at the end of the season, leaving Mclaren on the verge of bankruptcy and with no engine, then Mercedes will take pity on them and make an offer for cheap engines, whilst Button will drive more or less for free, the car will be stonking and he'll win the 2016 title... Or not.
