Hi all, I currently have a Samsung Syncmaster 226cw which is reaching the end of it's life, (8 years old) and I am looking for some recommendations for it's replacement. I have looked at the 'all about monitors' thread, but the last post was December 2013 and I am guessing that things have moved on a pace since then? I primarily use my display for gaming with some general browsing and word processing thrown in. I am currently involved in playing elite dangerous, so a monitor that will showcase this game is what I am really looking for. All replies and recommendations will be very gratefully received! i recently got the aoc u3477pqu and i love it. few questions might help: what res are you running? are you looking to go up in res? do you have a limit on size? what gpu are you running, would you be looking to upgrade if changing resolution? any idea of budget?

In answer to your other questions, Currently I am running at 1680 x 1050 @ 60hz refresh rate. Going up in size would be acceptable, and full 1080p would be nice. I have an Nvidia GTX 780 to connect to, so i am thinking this would be ok as it has a display port connector? As for budget, roundabout the £300 mark is what I would prefer.
