TBH I'm surprised they survived as long as they did... when they first announced it all I thought was 'That's never gonna work...'

Thing that irritates me about these services,

And it's things like that which mean I wouldn't invest in a service like this, You're just throwing money at these people and have no control over the future of the experience. You would come away now feeling you've wasted time and money and given enough time and it'll be the same story with the Nvidia grid and the PlayStation equivalent

True, but I'd say that is very unlikely - I'm not sure I can even think of a possibility short of an apocalypse that could make that happen!

yeah i think we are safe with steam, even if they did suddenly flop you can download everything and play steam offline mode anyways.

I dread to think how much HDD space I'd need to download my entire Steam Library...

I bet there's a calculator for that somewhere on the 'net...
    ... To Google!

    EDIT:
    Yup, there is: Steam Gauge
Mine lists as 1490.5 GB (but it is missing install sizes for 38 of my games...) so to be safe I'd need 2TB, + anything for saved games..
    ...hmm could be worse!

Apparently mine is only 260Gb? Although I've got loads of games via other sources which wouldn't be included! (Mind you, they're already nearly filling my 2Tb hdd.. lol)

1907.7 GB for mine, I'm also missing data on several games though so in reality it'd be over 2TB.
