Apparently the WHOLE 22. season will be shown in the Nordic countries on the "BBC Brit"-channel that has just started.
So there is hope for the last episodes after all :)

Can't say I'm shocked. I think a complete refresh will do the show some good frankly, it hasn't been that great for at least 2 seasons or so.

The BBC article suggests Dermot O'Leary is in the running for the new team. Not good.

I can't for the life of me understand why Dermot O'Leary is even up for consideration, and the other names being mentioned don't inspire much hope for the future of the show either. Clearly those in charge at the BBC have no idea who their audience is for the show. They should just scrap Top Gear entirely if they aren't prepared to put in the effort of suitably replacing Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Top Gear is a high value name to the BBC, so they will be hell bent on avoiding risk.

The irony that they got Top Gear by taking the enormous risk of giving Clarkson and Wilman a basically blank slate and a big budget to play with will be entirely lost on them.

I don't believe for one second all this has been a "Good" thing or the format needed a change. It didn't and is the main reason for it's 350 million viewers worldwide. You are clearly in the minority thinking anything different than that.

As May has stated, he wasn't sacked or banned from the BBC, they just didn't extend his current contract. Don't be surprised if all three are re-signed for the next season.

Latest news from the BBC, following the news that May has left, is that the the producer, Andy Wilman, has also announced his departure. That just leaves the short bloke, Hamster.

Just to add to my previous post above, that was just my personal opinion, others may like to see Dermot O'Leary in the programme

I don't think you can replace those three, not when they've been together that long on the show. If/when they do ressurect it on the BBC, it will not be the same, can't be. Be interesting to see where they go with it, IMO they'd probably be best going in a totally different direction, don't try and keep it going the same.

If I/we wanted to watch a boring car show with reviews of family hatch backs and the fuel economy of diesels vs petrol, we'd watch 5thGear. Judging by how long that didn't last, not that many people enjoy that kind of format. Whatever the beeb attempt if/when they bring back topgear, chances are it won't enjoy even half the viewers it used to get unless they keep the 2 old blokes and the hamster...
