Hi guys. I've just built a new ring using an MSI Z87i, Fractal node 304 and a 4690k. Unfortunately MSI placed the cpu socket far too close to the PCI slot making most air coolers, including my zalman, redundant. So I have narrowed my choice down to a refurbished H55 or a refurbished H60, both from scan. Is there much of a difference between these?
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...views/58038-corsair-hydro-h60-h55-review.html ask and you shall receive spoiler alert.... no the H60 has a tiny edge, but its marginal at best, just remember that the stock fans are garbage
It would definitely be quieter. My personal favourites are the cooler master jetflos. High static pressure and air flow.
Any more you would recommend Noiz? I'd prefer to buy everything from scan. Here is what they have. http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/coolers-air/system-case-fans-120mm-130mm

Thanks Noiz. I'm going to buy the H55 and run it with the fractal fan for now. If My temps aren't low enough i'll buy one of the corsair fans.
generally speaking almost any fan will be a noise improvement over the stock fans i run my H70 with a pair of Gentle Typhoons but i have had good results with http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120m...fan-w-4-pin-connector-and-rubber-pins-1500rpm http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120m...n-1225-ultra-quiet-pwm-white-with-blue-blades and http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-noctua-nf-p12-pwm-quiet-cooling-fan-sso-bearings never tried the corsair upgraded fans, but lots of people really like them
Put a SP120 on my cooler and it is so much better - it makes a much quieter and more tolerable noise. No idea what the temperature of the room is (but it's fairly toasty in my house) but my 2500k idles at 36c and topped out at 72c with a few hours of demanding gaming with a 4.6ghz OC. Very pleased.
