I hate you :p. Anything I do now in comparison will look like a monkey with a hacksaw made it.

    -Someone called me?
Wait.. You milled DEEP woogly channels? That means you have some ridiculously tiny mill bits that also have the reach?
-Or did you just attach a spatula to your EDM machine and go to town?

    -Awesome at any rate.:D

    Thanks guys! :D

Wellllllll, I didn't made this, the machine did... :hip: The stuff I do is still monkey with a hacksaw quality... :D

Yep, those flanges are milled, used a 0.5mm ball-nose mill for that. The flanges is 0.45mm wide and 0.55mm clearance(so, 1mm spacing), 3.5mm deep. Milling the flanges took around 4hours to finish...

I don't know what any of that means, but it results in serious nerd porn! Do you do some software-based flow testing when you're making stuff like this?

Good grief man! And I thought I liked to make billet parts :D

I agree with Cheapskate, this thread needs an NSFW rating!

    Keep up the good work!

Attention to detail makes me happy, lovely log so far.

In regards to your original post about you not liking doing build logs, I think you're doing an awesome job so far, I don't like reading loads and loads,
good pictures with a quick sentence explaining what is going on or why you are doing it is perfect.

Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing more!

Overkill is a way of life for the modder extreme! I love these kinds of builds. Makes me feel like a kid come Christmas time. Also, getting a little education is a damn good thing. I sub this... I...I kneel before it in worship of it's beauty! It is becoming difficult to retain my precious bodily fluids while gazing at all the goodness I have wittnessed in this log. Glory I say, GLORY  hehehe this is some seriously good poop Mr3D :thumb: thanks

Yes, I did some flow simulations. No really advanced simulations, tho.

With this simulation, I just looked for dead-spots. I'm no engineer so the values, like water velocity and such, I have no idéa what they mean. :wallbash:

Thanks guys, I'm glad you think the worklog is just enough text/image wise.

Free paper towels for anyone that reads this thread! :naughty:

    Thanks man!

    Comment Attack from Sweden!

    Tack grabbar, uppskattas!

So, time to announce a small "change" for this project. Well, it's nothing that affects the the actual build, but I've chose to give this build a name, and also announce that I've got sponsors for this build(at the time I'm writing this, only got one).

First off, the name. Project Tatami, or for short Tatami. I'll tell you later why I've chose that name, should be around middle of the next week.

As you might've noticed, the first post is updated with a banner and the title is also changed.

About the sponsors, I've kept this a secret, thinking that images of the products is enough. But I realized that actually announcing the sponsors might be a better choice.

About the build-log itself, I'm still a beginner in making the log as structured as possible, so suggestions for improvements are always welcomed.

That should be all for the changes.

Update about the build itself? All I can say is that on Mon/Tuesday I'll pick up the side-panels from the water-jet guy.

Off the wall ! Seriously jealous, makes everything I've ever done look like I went to the scarp yard and super glued some bits together.

    Kudos to you sir, stunning.

Thanks guys, more NSFW coming up! Don't tell me that I didn't warn you this time...

    How about a few side-panels?

Huge thanks to WST for water-jet cutting the panels! :eeek:

Side-panels were cut from a 2mm brushed aluminum sheet.
The bottom-panel were cut from a 4mm 6082 aluminum plate. I chose a thicker plate for the bottom because of the weight from the case and feets acting on just that plate. Gives the case a more solid feel.(Like it isn't solid enough right now...)
4mm thick polycarbonate sheets was chosen for the windows. Tho I have to do some machining on them before mounting.

The side-panels was cut in the finecut machine, yeah. That produced some niiiiiice cuts! :jawdrop:

    ASSEMBLED! :naughty:

I'm really happy with the result! Going to anodize the panels black, later. But silver isn't that bad, either. :worried:

So, a close-up of one of the corners.
As you can see in the pic, 2 of the plates alignes really good with the chamfer on the frame, but one doesn't. Well, that was just me that didn't think/thought about it. For the final assembly, all the plates will align perfectly with the chamfers.

About the project name, why Project Tatami?
Tatami is a Japanese floor-mat. Well, it's not the mat itself, but the pattern related to it.

That's all for this update! Next update in a few days. :hip:
