Aye, I know looked at that site a few times, the guy selling it also has one with an upgraded 600cc engine which sadly not for sale. If it's still available next week i''ll be buying it.

 

Looking forward to going for a ride RTT. Should be fun! Looks nice! Can only dream of a faster bike right now...!

As an aside, if you ever needed any persuading to change your fork oil regularly, this photo should help. That gunk...!!! Taking it out today to see how it handles.



Also, I discovered someone had put progressive springs in my bike. Don't know what make or spring rate but win win!

Looking for a workshop, not Owners manual for 2012 KTM 690 duke 4.

Anyone help?

 

try ktmforum.co.uk. i can't remember my login but there used to be a logged-in-users-only section for workshop manuals

 

Will pass that on to the heating engineer who is currently servicing my boiler. It is he who I discovered is looking for this as he has just bought a KTM but it did not come with the workshop manual and KTM are very reluctant to provide one which I find odd.

At the grandstands paddock as I type. What sorts of things do people want to see? (bearing in mind the cruddy phone camera)

 

I really am! I'm putting everything on hold for a fortnight and taking Dad next year, it's time we both experienced it in person!

 

Spent all afternoon/evening Sunday, Monday and Tuesday cleaning my bike in preparation for Louth bike night, turned out pretty well. I'm getting the hang of cleaning bikes now. This took about 12 hours all told and cost about £45 in products (chain lube, ACF-50, silicon-based plastic protector, autosol metal polish, 6 cans of brake cleaner). It probably isn't very impressive without the 'before' for contrast, but trust me, it looked like total shite before.

The exhaust system is still a mess, pending rust treatment and repainting, but I might not bother. It's a perishable part, ultimately.

Can some body answer me this, how do they do a quick tyre change in the pit stops ? what equipment do they use ? what about the break pads and chains ?

Look who I met:

 

On Endurance racers: quick releases that change the wheel and axle at once (by dropping out the axle)
On the rear, the sprocket and chain actually stay in place.
