    Annndd another project :D!

Bitfenix asked us to build 2 rigs for GamesCom 2015 in Cologne Germany.
    Ofcourse we're super excited!
This is the first buildlog the other one ... is a secret ;) (for now)

We've chosen to use the Funky Blue Aegis with a display on the frontside.
The deadline is the 5th of august so we don't have much time left for two complete systems ;) !
    So lets start !!

First a video we've made to show you what we are planning on doing!

The first packages to arrive, Thank you very much Richard!! :D

The first thing we are doing is flipping the case 90 degrees, and so the 'feet' have got to come to the 'front'.

To fit an ATX motherboard in this Micro-ATX case we had to remove some material. To get the case steady again we added an aluminium profile and secured it with rivets.

Like it has always been there, after spray painting it black.

The eye-catcher of this build is the Bitfenix Fury Powersupply which has a very nice topcover! Looks very neat!

This is just a quick preview of the layout for the case.

Next update will be a lot of 'case-management' ;)

Because today I'm really in the 'Update'-mood.. Yes, another Update ;) !

In the last post I didn't really mention the motherboard we are going to use.
So this is the one, it was in the price package for Polar (lucky me :D).

Cut out wooden panels with a lasercutter to fit in- & outside the case.

The great thing about the Spectre PRO fans is the two-part frame. You can take them apart easily.
The fans will then be mounted inside the panels. It almost look like speakers, don't you think?

Using a file to give an edge to the wooden panel so it will fit together nicely.

Cut out a big hole on the backside of the case. This will be covered up with the 'Aegis' panel that was cut with the laser. Air can flow through the Bitfenix logo out of the case.

Made a small attachment thingy (bracket?) haha

This is what it looks like now with a lot of the panels in place.

And here is just one quick shot with the power supply! :)

It finally happened. Pixel has somehow surpassed you in popularity.
You work, and work, and the little blue guy steals your thunder by biting something.

I feel your pain and pleasure, I have 8 Green Cheeked Conures and even sorting water cooling fittings is a challenge without one flying off with one

    Thank you :D

    Thanks!

Great, I'm also really curious how this develops ;)!

Wow.. eight...That is absolutely a lot haha! I can imagine you lose fittings easily, one distracts you and the rest flies off with your project haha! No, one small bird is enough for me ;)!

So, another quick update, after the Gamescom stress officially has started to kick in ;)

I took the Bitfenix Spectre PRO Fans out of there frame and used a file to round all the edges, so the fans will fit nicely into the wooden frame.

Below you can see the wooden frames for the fans they will be places on both sides next to the MB.

Ofcourse Pixel has to check if it is done correctly.. (maybe there are any sunflower seeds there, you never know...)

This is a rough idea of what it will look like (you just need some imagination ;))

Small aluminium brackets to hold the wooden frames with the fans in place.

These are all of the frames that need to be painted black on the backside and wrapped in black self adhesive foil on the front.

That was it for today, next update is the self-adhesive-foil-adventure (sounds so exciting....:geek:)

    After a short break I'm back :) !
Gamecsom was awesome! It was a crazy busy week (and the week before of course, finishing everything ;) ), but completely worth it!!
I was so happy I survived the teenage zombies and..I've made a short 'after' movie!

And a few pictures of the Aegis and the Atlas, the other build I'm working on! (more about that one in his own new buildlog..comingsoon)

Now, On with the buildlog because I've made a lot of pictures!

    Ok where were we again..
Applying the self adhesive foil (Pixel was completely obsessed with the plastic tool to straighten out the foil ;) )

You can't really see it here on this picture, but on the backside of the plexiglas you can see the foil opening up. Doesn't look very clean so I've added some black cardboard to the back of the letters which made it look really good!

Also the SSD's get their own very special place ;)

The SSD's and some lasercut fluor edge plexiglas to go with them (still need some work so don't worry)

    Annnnddddd.... another Update!
After the "self-adhesive-foil-adventure" (great book title BTW) Time to fit in the hardware!

Aluminium bars to hold the radiator in place, making the thread and than screwing the radiator onto them.

The Cooler Master Nepton 240 :)

It was a tight fit with all the cables but in the end everything fits perfectly!!

And a very nice package arrived from Avexir!

For the Aegis and Atlas :)!

Now I only need to do the finishing touches to the case and build in the hardware!
Next update the final pictures, I've made quite a few last week, so stay tuned ;)!

Thanks :D! I thought so too, the fluor edge plexiglass looks really good on black. It really pops out!
