I just love old 8bit/16bit games, unfortunately don't have time to play games as much as I would like to. What I also like is to listen to retro games music while I'm at work So thought we could share our favorite soundtracks from our old games here. I'll start! I really like to listen to Fire & Ice (Amiga) soundtrack. Other one is New Zealand Story on C64
Target Renegade (C64) Platoon (C64) Tune2=2:13 Tune3=7:54 Tune4=13:30 Tune5=15:17 Tune6=16:44 Tune7=18:05 Road Rash - Sierra Nevada (Game Boy) Robocop (Game Boy) @Yadda I haven't played Gryzor in over 20 years and I still remembered the loading music.
Haha, those Ocean loaders were memorable weren't they? Here's another I remember vividly, one of the few Ocean titles to have its own loader, Rambo:
Haha, it's funny you posted Rambo because I considered adding it to my first post. Here's Batman: The Caped Crusader
HEADSHOT!!!! this was the first online game i ever played... Donkey Kong Country, one of the best soundtracks to any game ive ever played and no game music list could be complete without... SONIC BOOM!!!!
I didn't have that game but another Ocean title I had used the same loader. It's amazing how these tunes stay with you isn't it? I recognised it immediately!
you guys are not doing it properly... didn't I switch off gods 25 years ago and forget to get back to it..... listening to these tracks is wounder and brings me right back to the freshness of computers. other games, double dragon, jet set willy, last ninja 2 ] oh heck here it is.
Gods, Last Ninja, Fury of the Furies, P.P.Hammer, Powermonger - those were the days. Guys, seriously only after 2 seconds of those music tunes and I'm right back in early 90's... Those 8-bit were immortal... those floppy discs, DOS, squeezing last bit of the RAM, messing up in highmem.sys and config.sys files... those monitor filters.. keyboard covers...
Dump incoming Still have the original boxes and CD's for all the games above! The only one I never played is Hitman...
The original Sonic on Mega Drive holds a lot of nostalgia for me but I think the EU/JAP version of Sonic CD on the MegaCD might top it.
I love the Gods music and the Sonic CD music was ahead of its time but one that holds a special place in my heart is Magic Land Dizzy for the Amiga. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU-hVQ3aob4 Also 'War has never been so much fun' from the intro to Cannon Fodder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSpBmGR5r7g
In no particular order Bubble Bobble is in your brain! I always preferred Ryu's theme to Guiles. OCRemix - most Sonic remix's are good. OCRemix - BubblemanWantsToGetFunkedUp! Reunion, great under rated Amiga game.
Exolon (I played it on an Amstrad): Command and Conquer (not really "retro" but some classic tunes!):
Daniel Perret from that hitman rendition of Ave Maria stops me in my tracks. Another of that, double scoop of delight.
I'll just leave this here: Sam Ninja Edit: Note how the entire end credits are 3 mins, compared to GTA5 which is 45 mins.
