Hello, I'm running round in circles trying to decide what's best. My PC has two GTX 980 TIs and is used mainly for gaming. Function is more important than form, but both would be nice. The three brands that keep cropping up in my mind are Corsair, EVGA and SuperFlower - but feel free to recommend something else. I'm leaning to Corsair, but only because I can buy off-the-shelf aftermarket braided cables and once the function side of the PSU has been satisfied, it would be nice to make the PC look pretty. So - what model would you recommend please?
So is Seasonic, Antec, Be quiet, Super Flower, XFX and others. Here is a huge PSU review database with very important information: the oem of psu, as not every Corsair is good and often is up to the oem.
EVGA are good too. Their high end units are usually made by Super Flower and they can be got at good prices sometimes.
You really have to do your homework and check the professional review sites. You used to be sure if it said Corsair, it was top quality but in recent years, they have gone with different suppliers to cut costs and cut quality in the process. So sadly, as noted, not all Corsairs are top quality any more. Their top-tier is still top-quality, but I would avoid their budget lines. I too like Antec (most of them), Seasonics, SuperFlower and XFX. I recommend getting at least an 80 PLUS "Gold".
