Wow the attention to detail and precision is mind blowing. Could you imagine if off the shelf cases were made to this standard? Amazing work!

Can I add my mother-in-law to that lethal cocktail ? 5 seconds around her is enough to fray your sanity, she's pretty good at stripping paint just by being in it's mere presence EDIT: On topic, great build, tho' I've seen glaciers move faster

Nexxo is very, very busy... But the build progresses apace. This week I have been mostly concentrating on the PSU cradle. This is slow work as there are a lot of pieces to it that need many operations performed on them, with high precision... The idea is that the cradle clamps the PSU firmly and then slides into the case. Which means that a lot of pieces have to line up exactly. The materials used: 10mm x 15mm aluminium bar, 10mm diameter brass bar and 6mm brass bar. There was a lot of old skool sawing... And a lot of milling: The result of a day's work: Next: drilling out and countersinking for M4 screws: Subsequently there was some test fitting and some filing --because even 0.1mm deviation can cause problems (the small gaps will disappear when the cradle is screwed in place). For kicks I also plugged in the power cord which I made some time ago: Here an overall shot to give an impression of how the case is coming along: Of course, there is a lot more work to do on the cradle --I have not got to the brass bar yet! And the PSU will itself be subject to slight enhancement.
More stuff coming up soon. There's just been a lot of fiddly parts to make. Below for instance are 8 bevelled 10mm washers, 2.5mm thick with a 1mm depth recess of 6mm diameter and a 4mm hole...
You're giving poor Nexxo mixed signals here. Maybe you should say, "Work at your own pace, but update religiously." You have to move at a fairly steady pace, or your tastes will change as you work. Then you get sucked into revision hell. Looking lovely. I would have left a gap and mashed some glue or foam in there instead. You don't seem like the Velcro type, honestly.
No revisions, don't worry. Although the design has grown more intricate along the way as I have acquired more tools and skills. I have been working out some interesting ideas that will be included in the build...
Current progress on the PSU cradle... Test assembly: Next up are the end pieces for the brass rods which will form the pull-out handles for the PSU cradle. The brass rods have an additional function; an adjustable cable organiser bridge will span the upper two.
