http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Tau-KX139-Ta'unar-Supremacy-Armour my wallet is looking very worried...
That tau thing is an absolute beast. I'm not sure I can think of a reliable way to take it down without spending double the points. Ork looks awesome as ever Phil! I've mustered the energy to do a bit of work on a terrain tile for my (eventual) gaming table. Today I added some more of the crenelation (Is that even the right word?) around the edges, and most importantly, cut the tile so I can bury the trenches into it. This'd be so much easier with FW trenches, but £300+ for a set can knob off. When everything's in its final place, I'll be using something like a cold cure clay (Unless someone has better suggestions?) to mimic the GW tile surface over the blue foam, and then probably miliput to blend the trenches into the ground, and no doubt make sandbags until I want to vomit greenstuff.
i think the main way Marine players will be taking it down is with Grav Spam tbh... hoping the new dex will be kind to the Tau....
That looks sweet! Assuming Green Stuff doesn't "go off" in its unmixed state, I've got some lying around if you're interested...
Cheers for the offer, but I bought 36" of it this morning And two packs of milliput, and 600g of coldcure clay. Hopefully by the end of the week - Depending on deliveries - I can get the construction done.
just finished my PHR army and keep looking at something new to paint, keep being tempted by the newer warhammer stormcast eternals, never had a fantasy army before always been more into my scifi, but i like these and think they would be nice display piece
I have had a play around with a couple of the new Stormcast fellas and yeah, the characters have been interesting to paint but they just feel a bit boring to me. However, having said that, fantasy has never really grabbed me. The closest that I have ever got to that is a 40k Ork army heavily biased towards close combat. I am not much of a gamer anyway, much preferring to just paint and I tend to swap around quite often. Got a LOAD of Black Templars plus Orks, Space Wolves, Mechanicum, and now Blood Angels in various states of painting. I'll spend a couple of months on each one just to avoid burnout. I suppose the Stormcasts could be a good 'bridging' army to go to if you're used to painting things like power armour.
Finally got the magic sculpt today, the replacement for the cold cure clay. Nearly there. Edit: And then there was brown; Edit Two: Then there was more brown! In the shape of six pots of wash.
]love that trench terrains lira.. I did a marine! - its the web exclusive space marine captain form around a year back. love that trench terrains lira.. I did a marine! .
Thanks.. I quite like the multitude of skulls on this model particularly the sword... I've pretty much followed the paint job on the box , just need to do some decals on the shoulder pads etc.. Its been really refreshing to paint something that's not green for a change... On that front I'm currently working on some burnas then I'm moving on to a box of stormboyz... ..
GW has formed a Specialist design studio which will cover all the old ip's ie Bloodbowl/Battlefleet Gothic/ Epic/Necromunda. Studio is responsible for the Battle at Calth box, will be linked with FW- models will be both plastic and resin- 6 months is the next box but other stuff will be a while. The Studio will also be responsible for Lotr/Hobbit. 2 new Blood Angles clamp packs coming Terminator Captain & Chaplain, also the 4 Assassins individually.
Your marine looks awesome Phil! And thanks, they've both gone in the loft until I have somewhere to put them on a table! Dont suppose any of you are interested in a thunderhawk, flying stand, and Kr foam are you? I need to cut down my stupidly expensive models before I start adding more (mastodon, stormbird, warlord and so on..)
