They are the best extenders I've seen and tested. Even at 50cm it worked without a problem with a GTX970.

Im,quite frankly,disappointed at the lack of wayward machine tools or personal injuries in the last posts.

@Barry - I clean a LOT. Sometimes I think I'm the only person in the state that likes a clean toilet.:/ That said; It's a constant fight. Just this month we had the ducting and hot water heater replaced.
@l3p & Nexxo - I'm just hoping it survives bending. They are a little stiff for SFF.
@Disturbed - Lianli have 2 length choices, and shipping from China is cheaper than domestic shipping.

 

Yeah, so, telling the world I was nearly ready to do a test run of the components was a flub. I royally jinxed myself with that comment.

-Clearance issues arose that didn't exist before the GPU card was properly mounted. A big one is that the inlet on the CPU block is under the GPU block. -Measure six times, and still get it wrong. This solution should hold things over until I get a crazy idea about making a new CPU top plate.

-See. It fits now, barely. The GPU is at a slight angle.

-The GPU outlet had to be adjusted a lot. Here I'm cutting off about 1/8" off the radiator end of the pipe.

-The other side was TOO SHORT by 1/8". There's no way I'm going to make a new pipe. The easiest way would be to shim the back outlet.

-Fused over the original face. I figured I could jam an O-ring in the old seat if I didn't get it glued right.

-Fixed, and it adds a bit more purple to the block. At this point I was ready to leak test.

-The leak test was a success- It leaked. It seems that the pipes were tweaked enough to force gaps in the O-rings. I did some checking of the models and it turns out I didn't get the seat diameter right.
So I had to make a new part from scratch. Remember how I made a billet big enough for 3 plugs in case my experimental pipe mount failed? -How freaking prophetic was that?

-This time around, I thought it would be good to do the O-ring grooves during the main cutting session. This way, I didn't have to re-zero, and the grooves would be exact.
Before I started, I melted some wax into the bottom of the holes so the MDF wouldn't soak up water and deform.

-Clearance plane set to zero, cut depth set to zero, positioned in hole safely, GO!

-Checklist at the ready. I was only called away like, four times or something, so the list was vital. Here I've finished the right hole cut, so I'm ready to zero the next depth.

-Milled, cleaned, and a dark purple O-ring retainer added.

-But, hey! Did you think that would be the end of the problems? I had to sand a steeply angled bevel on the pipes to get past the rings. The earlier Japanese porno comment was totally in my head as I violently forced the pipes in with all my weight behind them.

-Several ruined O-rings later. I got both pipes through. You can see they are not exactly seated neatly in the grooves, but there's no way in hell water is going to get past them like this. I broke a pen I was using for leverage trying to turn the pump pipe.

-The second leak test. This time I got to turn the pump on! Sometime today, I'll fit the PSU and get her running.

-See! -No water pouring out. I did notice the pump is pretty loud. I traced it to the fact that the pipes from the res are resting on each other. When it's time to clean this up, I'll saw some metal off the pump outlet and fix that.

-Still no leak.

-and I'll leave you with this shot of everything together. Wish me luck.

It seems the more carefully I have planned and laid out a loop great the severity and quantity of leaks I have. Loops I have tossed together with no plan rarely leak. I figure it must be part of Murphy's Laws.

Possible, alternative solution to your clearance issue, could you have squashed the copper pipe? Never underestimate the value of a mallet when fine tuning.
