    Is this using an AMD GPU or custom silicon?

    Matrox makes its own GPUs, always has.

    I'm thinking that professional users could probably do better with an AMD/nVIDIA card and an MST hub for 8+ screens where the GPU has more than two DP 1.2 ports.

    this is mostly why my work now uses AMD FirePro for our 4-screen lab PCs compared to 4-way Matrox cards originally...

    Saying that, new rigs now use 2x stacked 29-inch ultra-wides instead running off the two DisplayPort outputs on the motherboard IO panel! Much more efficient setup (two cables vs. 4 + GPU) and flexible (no vertical bezel bars) than the old setups

    I just thought exactly the same thing! In the old'un days Matrox cards were *the* cards to have. I guess for professional purposes they still are. Go Matrox. Nice to see an old name still actually, you know, like, surviving and not going bust even though the market has changed a fair bit. :)
