If you have just had all that work done then take it back.

Looks like a new drive shaft so I would say that the fluid is transmission fluid due to not being sealed correctly where the shaft enters the gearbox/dif, so I would imagine if you continue to drive that and you will cook the gearbox due to no tranny fluid.

What MrBungle said, looks like the seal on the driveshafts gone. Not a massive job. I remember you saying you had a new box fitted and a large leak of oil. Smacks to me they used the wrong seal or the old one.
Call the garage tell them to come recover the car. If you drive it without the gearbox fluid you can do a lot of damage.

Thanks, They’ve picked the car up now, basically 2 guys came and 1 drove it back to the garage. They did say they needed to get a different drive shaft to make the gearbox fit.

Thanks, hopefully wont be long before i get her back then :)

Confirmed its a Seal! Probably have the car back in a week or something..

A week! Driveshaft seal should be a couple of hours, tops.

the fancy white paint rather than the standard white,
    leather,
    better stereo

that was pretty much my fill :) The msport pack has quite a few good things in it. i'm quite inexperienced with buying new fancy cars so potentially I could have specc'd it better :)

I will miss heated seats as I have grown to love the heated seats in my mini.

Ouch - for me, heated seats and steering wheel are one of those things that transformed from a bit of an indulgence to absolutely must-haves within around a week of having them for the first time!

Cool, would love to try one of the new 2.0 turbo jobbies. We have had a 1.6l turbo hatch, a 1.6l turbo countryman All4 and now this 2.0l Diesel turbo S (2wd) and they have all been very different.

The diesel is great, slightly down on power from the petrol, 143bhp compared to 189 (for the one we had) but the torque is up around 300Nm at about 1550rpm. Plus this one is not awd so less power losses there. We get a full 100 mile extra per fuel fill as well (same 45l tank size) over the petrol version.

Of course £30 per year road tax is kinda nice too...
