I played the open Beta and although it took me a bit of time to get into it, I really enjoyed it. In terms of combat mechanics, I think it's very similar to Mass Effect 2, they've just swapped out the sci-fi setting for a more contemporary setting. The world itself seems very well built and it'll be interesting to see how the systems like crafting fit in. I'm definitely getting this one and can't wait to partake in some trolling in the Dark Zone.
I presume this game will have single player campaign missions, right? Where will be the best place to buy this as pc-dvd box version in UK?
Its all online as far as I know - though you can play the missions alone, there will be other people in the world - and it'll be PVP if you enter the dark zone for the juiciest loot. Amazon are pretty good at release day delivery in my experience.
It's all online and designed for co-op, but you can solo the missions. They'll probably just take a bit longer as everything is designed with co-op play in mind.
Thanks guys. Sounds like something similar to Elite Dangerous - you can join the world as single and play it, or join this Dark zone and play with other people. But those missions are still ok to play single, so the whole game can be played solo, is that correct?
There is no solo mode. Even in the none PvP areas there will be other players. missions can be started in either a group or solo (nb some missions are supposed to be quite hard the complete solo) NPC encounters will still end up with players/ai all shooting it out.
