Ha ha "lets try to update for the 3e time". The fanfilterframes are mounted and i set my eye on the back "yes 3 windows in the back" . Made out of 3mm aluminium profile and a inlay of 7 mm clear acrylic as a window. Before i go on with making the windowframes i first place 4mm neopreen tape (damper). First start. Easy Job. New tools "time to go to the back for som saw\grinding work. Not much room in the back "need to clean up i guess". One edge have to go. A trespa bar under a few clamps wil do as a guide for my grinder. Stil a bit to big. Marking what to file or saw off. After sawing and filing "lets see how it fit and looks". Time for cutting out the place for the window. Before i can saw out the window i have to make 4 holes as a startingpoint for my jigsaw. I use the dremel for this. Last job for this evening is filing back som parts. Yes it is already to late
It has been a long time ago sinds my last update. "Why" to bussy i guess. But the build has not stopt. Som changes in the build just cost more time. At the moment i have mounted the last of the 3 windowframes in the back. I hope you like it. Ill be back soon
First base for the bitspower double pomptop is made. What is left is just drilling the holes in the back for the leds. The clear 8mm acrylic base is ready. Time to make the 5mm black top on it. After repeatingly filing, sanding and measuring the top is almost ready. Using my fingers to feel if it is oke. "yes oke" Just i thiny slope edge . Ill be back
Working on the ledprofiles for under the bitspower ultra 250 reservoirs. Dont know if it work out the way i like "whe wil see". After sawing out the space for the ledprofile in the lower acrylic block i can slide the profile under the two acrylic feeds. "Not bad". Difuser cap on but i want the profile in black". And black it is. Res on. Want to finish the other profiles this week and drill a few holes for the power cables. Ill be back
This is the end!! "No it is not". A thing that i have to do is making a pressure or closing plate in the back of the bitspower double pomptop for the D5 pomps from Aquacomputer. Why! Because the Aquacomputer D5's have multiple connections sticking out of the back. A posible solution was to outdrill the original bitpower plate. "NA dont want that". So with a few scrap plates i am going to make a few custom plates. Yes i love to work with my hands. Ha ha i hope that i finish the parts at the end of the week. A few pictures ! just 3 more befor the paintjob.
Just finished making the 3 other plates for the bitspower double pomptops. Tommorow it is a bit sanding and then painting again.
One year has past and the desk is not finished yet. But i feel i am close to the end. Som things change during the build. "Why"! because i havent thought about it befor i start the build. One of the things is the place for the 2 x 1200 watt psu's . I first made a big box between the two pedestel\ legs as a structure and to house the psu's. Calculating how long my power cables must be i found out that this place i makes it more difficult ( all the twists and bends). So after laying on my back under the desk i found the right spot for housing my 2 psu's. I quickly orderd more alluminium plating. It arived yesterday and i was lucky to get a few hours of from duty. After sawing filing and drilling the box is in place. "Yes i like it". Still have enough room for my legs under the desk. I also did a mod on the cable cover in the bottom of the middle section. I already made a grommet hole in the side of the desk. Enough room to lead the cables in in one line without to much bends. Adding a 200 mm deep box forced me to mod the original made and powdercoated cover. Original powdercoated cable cover. After changing it. First try out with my new monitor Asus PG279Q . I use it downstairs at the moment because i dont know for sure wich monitor i want 4K "Asus PG27A0", or the new 34"PG348Q Ill be back soon.
25-03 "mounting the psu-box and the large cable cover for the middle section of the desk". It is fun now working on the desk. i spend much time on the detail parts. Never thought that it take me this long. But now that i am working to the end of the build "this is my feeling" i am verry happy. The making of the psu-box took me one afternoon. I modified the large cable cover and cut about 20 in length off. Placing the last hinge. The panel with the horizontal arows is the panel that covers the window frame underneath. After mounting a u shape-profile on the panel i can now see if the large modified cable cover fits underneath my desk. Not bad he ! Off course i need to do som more work on it but it looks oke to me. Ill be back
28-03 "happy second easter day". Beside sitting with the hole family at the dinning table it is also time to work on the desk. On the menu was today "psu-box": - filing; - sanding; - de greasing; - painting "job finished".
The work on the cover under the desk is as good as finished. At the end of the cover is a u-shape profile. Ther i slide in one end of the cover. On the other side i used two side locks that go in to the side of the desk. The stand out because i did not paint them yet. At the back you notice3 hinges. Behind that panel is the box where i placed two 1200 watt power surplies pointing with the wires to the side of the desk. This way the wires go straight in to the desk under the mb tray. Here i measure up the length of the cables that i need with the original cables. I placed two angle strips on the bottom of the psu-box. This way the psu's can slide back and forward in case that i need to adjust the length of the cable a little. In this picture you see the fans pointing upwards but when the are placed the fans are pointing downwards and having a fine mesh under it for the dust. The inside of the angles pieces are kept without paint "now the psu can slide". A new phase in the build of my desk. The wiring and sleeving of all the cables. Altho i wait for new parts that i just orderd at Gosumodz.com i have work to do. I always make cable diagrams\ drawings. I cought not find the pin layout so i followed avery wire in the Thermaltake psu box to make my own diagram. Ill be back soon.
It is time for the sleeving work of the build. My first intention was to let some one els make the cables but sinds i am home 3 more days a week "thanks to the early retirement rules from the firestation"i got more time to do it myself. So i orderd a few 100 meter of sleeving , connectors , tools en got to work. If you do this the first time it is a patient job. The first roll of paracord that i orderd if it is going to work i dont know. Day 2 of trying to sleeve my first 24 pin extension. I must say it take som time to lurn but i like it. Just 7 more wire to finish this extension. Like it "i do". Ill be back soon.
Today i remade the 2e 24 pin extension because i flipt the connector. For the female pins it is easy to get them out but the male pins ar harder to remove. So i cut the the extension in 2 pieces ( for the showcase) and made me a new one. I must say i like the material Paracord 550 type III. Half way. Close up. And finished. http://i.imgur.com/HfePFvs.jpg Ill be back.

It has been to long ago sinds i updated my buildlog. The build was on a hold because there where som changes for me at the firestation. Sinds 1-4-2016 i only work 2 days a week (eraly retirement). So i had to make som decisions what to do with my time. I choose to make my own cncrouter. It took me more then 8 months and a lot of pocket money. The machine is finished. and today i made the first step to get back to my builds again. New router One of the first parts for my other builds was a pompmount. Pompmount was made on a scrap piece acrylic. Ill be back soon.
I dont know what i did wrong but my last two made updates are gone. So i keep it short this time. I am back on the build. New extension cables (ROG colors). New GPU extension cables together with my own made cables combs.
New Reservoir mounts for the Bitspower Z-multi 250. It took me about one week to make them with al the work: - taking measurements; - make drawings; - making toolpaths for the cnc machine; - making a prototype and adjust a little; - making 4 sets of mounts "front and back side); - polishing them. The work payed off. 4 sets of parts. For mounting them to the desk i made a drillmall.
