I was thinking about it but the cost of getting to LA put me off. Have fun though!

Thanks guys, having an ISA mature is what paid for this! :D
Besides, I haven't been to California for 15 years, (spent March 2001 in SF area).

    I found a cheap flight:-

Ethiopian Air fly Dreamliners direct from Dublin to LA on Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays for around £350 return, just add £30 of Ryanair connecting flights (from Liverpool - nearest to me).
Then, a reasonable hotel for under £50/night for 2 weeks.
Total, around £1000 plus spending money for a fortnight in LA! :p

The only downside is having to spend the night on a bench at Dublin due to a 6am flight.

BTW:- PTU is now at build "e". Getting close to a hotfix release for live server.

Also don't imagine there'll be much food on an Ethiopian Air flight.

I went to an Ethiopian restuarant once. It was disgusting - I really should have known better, as that is not what that country is known for.

Since I'll have to be at Dublin airport at 3am to check in for the flight, my plan is to have a full Irish breakfast before boarding. That should last me the 10.5hrs to LA! :p

Creation of hype for new concept sale. Consumer psychology 101: give a glimpse or mention of new desirable product.

Consumer psychology 102: hint that the price is a time limited special.

Reality: they have a massive backlog of ships to build, and a game to build. We have already pledged massive amounts. I ain't buyin'

You can bet that someone will be buying, though, and as long as people are buying, CIG will keep on selling.

Actual reality - people bitched and moaned when they announced new sales out of the blue, so CIG said they'd warn us a week in advance, to reduce moaning by an optimistic 5%

Yes, this might work very well for them, but they were happy to simply let it drop at the end of AtV, 24hrs or so beforehand. Its misrepresenting reality to suggest its anything but that, and god knows theres enough people actively trying to do this as it is.
