Rumour of 2 engines per driver in 2017 Link to Article Kinda stupid. While it encourages teams to use engines more its something that is out of the hands of the team. Look at McHonda who ultimately made a mockary of the rule since the punishment can only go so far. They want teams out in qualifying but what's the point if it damages the engine and your on the back row anyway?
That's as of 2019, to be honest the way the factory mercs went during pre season testing id have said yes that's feasible. During season, a big fat nope.
FP1 finishes under a red flag as Rosberg's Merc lifts a loose drain cover, flicking it across the track and right in front of JB, it completely wrecked on side of Button's front wing. Was a pretty close call really, if it had flicked up any higher it could have caused massive damage (think Massa in Hungary).
So much for Boullier's bluster last week. McLaren is running P9 and P11 at the moment, and were P13 and P15 in FP1. If they can turn that around before Sunday, I'll eat my hat.
The Honey Badger starts on pole!!, where as Verstappen stuffed it into the armco in Q1. He'll start dead last. He had damaged suspension possibly weakened as a result of an earlier shunt at the top of the hill in FP3. Rosberg 2nd, Lewis 3rd, Vettel 4th. Full Results
Mercedes screwed Lewis again. There reliability issues on his car reminds me of the McLaren he drove. Very fast but super fragile. Getting paid his reported Wages to drive a broken machine this season. He has had 3 clean qualy and been p1 in all. Redbull gets a nice default win tommorow, Mercedes will likely take each other out by the first corner or more engine issues will destroy one of there races. First rule of racing got to be in it to win it, Mercedes can not honestly say both drivers are equal this season. Rumours are Nico to Ferrari is a 70-30 to happen according to most press reports.
It's ironic considering how bullet proof they where in pre season testing. I'll predict Rosberg will jump Riccardo at the start as he gets too much wheel spin from not getting the super soft tyre up to temperature. Hamilton will take out Vettel trying to avoid Riccardo
again ive spend the last day listening to my friend say he thinks Last year Mercedes gave the championship to Hamilton with subtle reliability issues for Rosberg, and this year they are giving the title to Rosbers with little reliability issues for Hamilton... Also http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/f1-2017-cockpit-protection-halo-aeroscreen-052816 Halo Cockpits will be Mandatory in 2017 Thoughts ?
Bit miffed they went for the Flip-flop... But the screen apparently was too much of an aero hit and required more work to get around the aero hit than the Halo did... So we may seen the screen or a full canopy in the future, but for 2017 at least, it's the hoop...
Aero hit excuse is BS. The rules about changing wing simentions or car widths caused an aero hit they still built a car round it to compensate. Hoop looks absolutely stupid not to mention it isn't complete protection for the driver.
If Ricciardo wins tomorrow, fair play to him. And I think their strategy on the tires is was a stroke of genius. But it is meant to rain during the race and that could throw all sorts of stuff up. Will be more interesting than most Monaco races anyway.
They in danger of blowing the constructors at this rate also think if he gets disinterested they will have a serious problem getting him to care for the sake of constructors. Redbull for a walk tommorow and Hamilton will remove his team m8 turn 1.
I'm praying for rain. It's the only thing that might make Monaco worth watching. I get that the drivers derive excitement from carving an exact line through the maze of armco, with little to no margin for error, but it's still ****ing boring to watch.
