the unshakeable feeling of 'why do i even bother?' and an equally unshakeable sense that my only options are lucking into a fortune or stepping in front of a bus...

Well this seems trivial by comparison, but a package has been listed as "out for delivery" all day on the courier company website, but it never reached. Turns out they sent it out this morning, but traffic in the city (it poured buckets today) meant the delivery guy never made it to my house!

Minor, especially as the guy I spoke to assured me that they'll get it to me tomorrow, but it's annoying having spent the day anticipating coming home to new stuff.

Curiosity my friend, when we get like that we do it so that we can see what'll happen tomorrow and then there's always the day after that ;)

Ubuntu 16.04, TensorFlow, GTX1080, Caffe and CUDA 8.0rc
    All on the same box
    It's just not happening.

Can get Tensorflow working with CUDA 7.5, but Caffe needs CUDA 8.0 to support the 1080... Gah!!!

290X is black screening at idle AGAIN. Different card and PC same broken ass rubbish.

Why is the web full of this issue with no official fix.

Will not be using a AMD GPU for a while after the last couple of years dealing with this crap.

Bought a Vax Dual Power Pet Carpet Cleaner from Ideal World as I have got awfully house proud since I totally redecorated and refurnished my flat and having a long haired cat this would be useful.
What a total bit of rubbish. For a start you would need hands of a shot putter to hold the tiny trigger under the handle for any length of time, not the first time I have come across obvious design flaws in Vax products.
But worse than that not only did it not suck up the cat hair it collected it in fur ball as spat it out on the carpet and I had to use the vacuum to remove them.
Back it has gone. I suspect that i did not learn from my first foray into TV shopping when I bought an Exakt saw DC270 which was another piece of junk. One can be taken in buy the presenter and more importantly the demonstrator who of course has used the product many times and is not going to point out it's flaws.

Main sewage pipes blown up the hill from my house, literally had to drive past a fountain of poo water then through a river of the stuff to get home no emoji can describe that. Also I have no qualms in admitting a threw up at the smell.

My lousy i3 is struggling now. It's a 3220 and i've had it for a good 4 years now, it's done its job. But I can't play Witcher 3 very well as it's obviously bottlenecking, and Battlefield 1 will either crash or run out of memory. Oh yeah, I also need more memory.

I just don't have the money to upgrade at all since we just had to pay out for a Washing Machine and may have to again for a Tumble Drier. F***ing Electronics keep dying together.

Darkwisdom, would an i5-3570k help you? Got one spare. Wanted to sell it but you're down on your luck, and I know the feeling.

Noticing my kitchen sink has water in it, NOT from the tap, but from the ceiling!
(Bathroom is directly above) THEN finding out home insurance company went home at 1pm :wallbash:

That's extremely generous of you if you're offering that?

It would be very helpful as some of my favourite games are extremely processor bound. Skyrim, Witcher 3, Dark Souls are all very CPU intensive games and my poor GTX 970 is struggling with lifting it all on it's own.
