Looking to see what every ones thoughts are on the latest cards and which one you prefer. I have seen some of them have their own PCB boards for increased durability and performance. I have also heard that OC'ing on many of them isn't working out well (except Asus for some reason) What did you or will you go with?
I've heard reports of the standard design "Founders Edition" cards throttling on high temperatures. Whether that's true or not, I think its sensible to pay that little bit extra to get a 1080Ti with a custom cooling solution. Doesn't matter really which one at that point! These are all out of stock, but you get the idea: https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007709 601294835
It does matter actually if you plan to OC you'll want one with improved components. Also, I plan to water cool so the stock cooler is going in the trash anyway You can find the cards in stock with this site.
If you are water cooling, reference will be more than fine. Nvidia beefed up the power supply to the GPU by twice the amount compared to Titan X-P if I am remembering it correctly.
I've read on a few sites that some of the cards don't OC well. Seems like Asus does this well over some of the others but I normally get Evga...because Asus support is the worst.
Yeah that. Power requirements for these Pascal cards are so low that even the stock cards have more than enough power on tap. Yeah Asus support isn't exactly fantastic here either. EVGA seem to offer the best in the USA.
Plus...I've also invested in the bridge, and power links. Power links are AWESOME as it cleans up the look quite nicely.
