Which could well resurrect the corpse of UKIP.

It's not the first time Theresa had a close shave...

It means that Theresa May is weak, like David Cameron was weak, and like David Cameron callously risked the economic future of this country to resolve some petty Tory party infighting that she didn't have the balls to slap down.

In case you haven't realised it:

Note last time cons 316 exit poll ended up 330, could go the other way... May is toast anything less than 360 so buh bye our prospective internet overlord. should have waited for the boundary changes.

Nope. UKIP is dead. It is never coming back.

Once the electorate realises that there are no Brexit unicorns, they'll be pissed at the Tories for balling it up. When it should have been focusing on preparing for the negotiations, Theresa May instead blew their majority on a vanity/party management project and wasted precious time. Brexit is still their baby and they're going to get creamed in the negotiations. You Brexit, you own it.

And Jeremy Corbyn will sit there smugly and say: "That wouldn't have happened if I'd been PM".

People want their unicorns. Now it's time to deliver.

Perhaps the Tories now can start looking for a real leader... like Boris Johnson. :hehe:

    Ew! Gross!

I'm not in touch enough to work out who it the likely next conservative leader. Problem is that the current lot seem a bit second rate.

If the conservatives stay in governement they may be blamed for bad things happening. If labour are somehow in then they're holding the baby.

    Davis. Bring back Portillo!

If the exit poll i correct Tories would remain in minority with very shaky DUP support (maybe UUP) and labour would find it impossible to form a coalition.

The particularly stupid/arrogant thing is that she rushed to call this before the boundry changes went through. They had the chance to wait until the current bias to Labour (due to demographic changes, the way seat boundries are defined is independently controlled, not doen by the government) was sorted out but she got greedy.

Boris Johnson becoming Prime Minister wouldn't be far off Donald Trump for ridiculousness. Whatever a buffoon he was before, that whole referendum episode in his career showed us what a total ****wit he really is - shafted by someone as pathetic as Gove... :D

Davis is a libertarian, which is good, but I'm not sure how effective a campaigner he would be.

He's a rather more intellectual buffoon than Trump. Actually would probably be better as a Prime Minister than as a minister.

I'm very surprised she didn't factor this. Because it is possible for labour to get in government with less vote share than the Tories.

    SNP look fooked :hehe:

I wonder if anyone is in for a portillo moment....

Amber Rudd will be positioning. If she retains her seat.

Just pick Johnson. The Tories may as well go full retard.

The particularly stupid/arrogant thing is that she called an election at all, when she should have been preparing for what she called the most important negotiations of a lifetime.

Davis is good he'd have none of this internet control crap.
He's a very good communicator. Wipes the floor with others on QT and in debates. Ex SAS. Libertarian. Working class upbringing.

They won't really happen till after the German elections. There is a lot more domestic politics to do first!

Nah merkel is well secure in with her electorate. She's sweeping up after 4 terms. Exceptional poll performance, exceptional politician on those grounds.

Sure, but she won't want to get into the negotiations beforehand. The thing is the the UK was a net contributor the EU Budget, so with the UK gone, Germany will have to pony up more and that isn't popular.

While I agree that it was the wrong decision, do you remember the results of the recent council elections where the Tories gained a lot? So maybe her confidence wasn't completely unfounded.

Either way, I think it will probably come down to who picks up the seats in the wake of the SNP downfall.
