Hi guys, earlier this year I transferred my old build into an IN WIN 303 from a Thermaltake Core X9, due to size constraints and it's impact on desk choices. At the time I re-used my 4790k, Asus Z97 Ranger, Hyper X DDR3 Ram and added a Palit 1080 GTX Gamerock Premium, a 5" TFT screen for temp monitoring and a Crucial MX525gb SSD, before finishing it off with a Corsair K65 RGB Lux.

So here's what I have done so far:

    Last week I ordered

    Ryzen 1700
    Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 Motherboard
    16gb 3200 Trident Z RGB (CAS 16 - I aint paying + 33% for CAS 14!!)
    2 Litres Mayhems Pastel Blue
    A New Temporal Snow label
Blue and silver sleeving and PINs
20 x 3mm Blue LED (to replaced the Red LED's in the current Thermaltake Riing 12 fans)
and of course, white spray paint :D

Here's what it looked like under Intel

So, as you may have guessed, I'm moving this from a red and white theme to a blue and white them. It was only ever the RoG board that had me move down this route, my preferred build colours have always been blue on white and purple + green on black.

The first thing I'm going to do is post some benchmark results from my rig as it currently is as a basis to show against the new system once it's complete. I expect some trading blows and am not really doing this from a gaming perspective, more of a platform update perspective, aka my m.2 drive sits around 780mb/s as the boards m.2 is PCIE 2.0 x2, I will also gain USB 3.1 and 4 extra cores!!

So here goes 4790k @ 4.7ghz and Stock 1080 GTX (around 2050mhz on my card)

    Firestrike

    18129
    23607 Physics - 13073 Graphics
    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/12141523

The rest are ran @ 4.7Ghz and ram at 2.1ghz with the 1080GTX again at 2050mhz and are all ran at 1440P - Yes I know that the CPU's real strength is shown at 1080P, but as I own a 1440P panel, that is where my concern lays.

So first things first bleed and disassemble the loop and polish the block, don't want no purple coolant, whilst I was at it I figured I would polish the external also

Everything arrive ok and I got the new board in and started re-assembling the loop making the necessary changes for new tube positions and ofc, changed that red logo!

Everything installed and time for bleeding, leak checking:

    To do list

Spray the Crucial SSD White - Done
Sleeve the PCIE extension cables - X
    Logo for SSD - X
Replace red fan mount pads - X

I changed the LEDS for the 3x Thermaltake Riing 12 fans (much quicker than spraying a new set of fans) and Thermaltake are sending me out a new set of blue mounting pads as the the red is quite the eye sore!

My Ryzen chips seems pretty good, 4.0Ghz @ 1.35V so I ran some early benchmarks and as expected:

    a) My ram won't go above 2133mhz as it isn't Samsung B Die
    b) Performance is behind the 4790K in gaming - Mainly due to the ram being gimped.

    Deus EX DX 11 - 41.3 FPS

    Deus EX DX 12 - 42.2 FPS

    Gears Of War 4 - 76.5 FPS !!

New bios today released by Gigabyte, helped my ram speeds a chunk, 2666mhz now, however after some quick testing my CPU seems unstable above 3.85ghz now < 1.4v - ill test some more, a quick rerun of RotTR DX12 sees an increase of 92.4 FPS from 88.1, so a nice bios indeed, just need to get the CPU back to 4 Ghz and retest whilst waiting for the last few pieces to complete the build prior to final pictures

Ok so another 12 hours spent on this (ok 3 hours gaming, and 1.5 hours driving/shopping to pick up some damn ATX pins)

It's almost complete, just need the fan mounts from Thermaltake, so time for the glamour shots!

    New logo applied

SSD painted and pun logo applied!

Thanks, that sleeving was a bitch to do haha!

The platform is better than I expected for such a new architecture especially with regards to stability. Bios updates are give and go, I was stuck at 2133mhz and the chip could hit 4.0 ghz @ 1.35v now I got 2666mhz ram but CPU seems to cap at 3.8ghz - I need to play more.

Just be ready for teething issues!

Looks impressive, blue and white is a much better colour scheme than the usual black and red! Have you got a link for that screen and do you use rainmeter to set up the layout? Interested in adding something similar to my mod.

    Thanks!

Ok the screen I bought from ebay along with a plastic surround, I think it was like £44 all in:

    Like this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Banan...493032?hash=item1a27007ca8:g:y7YAAOSwwpdW77NX

    and the frame/case

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raspberry...647968?hash=item281e83d4a0:g:ihwAAOSwZVlXtY9x

The software used is Aida64 - specifically the sensor panel, I used online guides to figure out how to import images and set up the sensors, but after 10 mins or so you will have it worked out.

    Hope this helps

Ok so I hated that Enermax fan in the back of the case and decided at add another 120mm XSPC AX radiator to the rear mount using another EK Varder. And after reseating my ram I can finally run it at 2933mhz up from 2666mhz - Gotta love these Ryzen bugs! (still not 3200mhz!)

Rise of the Tomb Raider bench up a little more again, every little helps

Ill got some more "completed pictures" up over the coming days (work tomorrow)

So I initially fitted an XSPC 120mm ax rad to the rear, but it looked bulky and I didn't like the tube routing, so I decided to change it for a 120mm Alphacool crossflow which needed to be spray white (duh lol)

Seemed my GPU temps were getting high (63C) which was due to a combination of a few things : Block needed reseating and cleaning and case airflow. So I reseated the block and completely stripped out the build to add a front intake fan. At the same time I painted the inside of the case white:

In the next picture you can see why it isn't located centrally on the front - due to tube routing

one place in the UK sells them and they're f. expensive and zero correspondence from Avexir themselves when I messaged them .....

    Oh well, painting time!

Now this was a pain in the rear, I started these on Monday, spent a few hours, an hour yesterday and an hour today, think this was down to a few reasons:

    1) Brushed anodised aluminium ...

    2) British humidity at the moment due to all the summer rain

But I got there in the end - well the painting that is, I still need to apply the finishing touch

I love them, but they still need their finishing touch!

Decided to add the Ek Monoblock for this board as the VRM's are getting pretty toastie, it also looks pretty cool, but obviously needs a make over to match the build!

Ive also decided I don't like the holes in the front of the case for the drives etc, so i'm going to make up some acylic shrouds for the front. Thinking at the moment to also move the LCD up there, but I may have to drop the res to the 150mm from 250mm if I do so that the screen isn't blocked from view.

So I cut the acrylic to today and spent time getting it sprayed up.

I got some more work done yesterday, unfortunately the acrylic I cut out earlier in the week wasn't quite the right size - My fault for measuring when everything was still installed, so I started again

    Stripped the PC down

and cut out some new acylic

and made sure there was no issues with motherboard contact

Acrylic painted and 24 pin hole cut. Now need to cut the hole for the LCD, SATA cables and GPU cables.

Also trying to work out where I can mount the SSD but hide the cables

Yesterday was a honking day of cutting and filing Acrylic! I spent a good 5 - 6 hours cutting the cable management holes and the hole for the screen. I initially wanted to position the screen horizontally but it was way too close to the 24 pin ATX cable hole and I didn't wanna make a weak point there in the acrylic so I figured I would just go with a portrait orientation will need a whole new sensor panel design in AIDA 64 ....

    So the cables are in:

    and so is the screen

The acrylic cracked doing the last hole for the GPU cables which flashed me right up until I realised you wouldn't see it once the radiator and everything is installed
