Now that the cubes come down to a silly price, I am tempted to get one.

The question is, is it worth getting one with the games that are available. It seems a little extreme just getting one to play Zelda and Metroid.

That and it would feel as though I was cheating on my Xbox :D

Don't forget Mario Sunshine, and the Monkey Ball series.
Also Mario Kart when it emerges. :D

I'm a whore and my XBox knows it.

So if I was to get a cube with four games what four games should they be?

    1. Zelda
    2. Metroid
    3. ?
    4. ?

My minds mostly made up to get one, the fact there's a new Mario Kart out soon being the deciding factor :D

How many memory slots does a game use on average?

I like my cube. Personaly, i haven't played Matroid or Zelda cuz i seem to be the only person on the planet who doesen't like either. Rouge squadron 2 is fun and cheap now but I would wait for Rebel strike to come oute because it has Rouge leader in Co-op and if finally has multiplayer (can anyone say, dogfight! . Yeah, mario cart should be fum but F-zero GX is great.

At £80 the GC will be king of the consoles this year.

Four top games (in my experience):

    Metroid Prime
    Super Monkey Ball
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Lost Kingdoms

The first half of Zelda is great but the last bit is a bit cynical. I'll say no more :nono:

Well I gave into temptation and bought a Gamecube. :D

In the end I bought Mario Sunshine and Zelda.

Also as Nintendo have just brought out a budget range I've got Metroid and Super Smash Melee on order.

I forgot to buy a memory card though :duh: I guess I'm just too used to having a hard drive in the PC and Xbox.

Hmm I say no gamecube, as the games that come out are pretty limited. Im not gonna go as far and say that the games are crappy, but do I really need to, It seems like for this generation of video games PS2 and X-BOX reign supreme.

A lot of developers aren't making games for the PS2 anymore, just the GameCube and Xbox. PS2 is way old and very underpowered.

The GameCube has some awsome games, not sure what your talking about. I reckon there is a better ratio of good games to total games for the GameCube than the PS2 or Xbox. I have all three, so I should know.

A mate bought me one for my birthday, Metroid is cooool but Zelda must be the dullest game I have ever played  lol

I hear good things about Super Monkey Ball tho, might have to rent it and give it a try ;)

I think they are worth it for the price, plus loads of games are down to £9.99 now.

Indeed, loads of GC games are dirt cheap if you know where to look.

I guess each to his own really, I have a x-box, and a PS2. My friend owns a Gamecube, and it seems that the game cube is just there. All the games I like come out for x-box or ps2. There are some good multiplayer ones on the gamecube but thats it.

I have PS2, XBOX and GC and I've had the PS2 the longest of the three, but I have more games for my GC than the PS2.

Some of that has to do with multi format games that are better on GC or XBOX than PS2 I guess.

Im not saying that the Game Cube is a bad system, just that really there aren't too many games That i find appealing on it. Most of the good games are on the x-box or ps2 and there are a few on the game cube.

Super Mario Sunshine sucks... a LOT.
I had the first 3 Mario games on my origional Nintendo, and I played Mario World a lot too on my aunties SNES. Dunno what the games in the middle were like, but the new one just, well, it's nothing like as good as the old ones were - by a long shot :(
Tried to sell it, but I refuse to sell it in Game, as they take £12 and sell it on for £20, and no-one else wants it :(
EDIT: Zelda kicks serious ass ;)

I never played Mario Sunshine... I heard it was really good, but then again that statement came from the cracked out monkey on TechTV's Xplay...
