The thunderhammer rolls onwards! Edit: Oh gods writing purity seals is a lot of work. Redid the first attempt. They at least kind of match now. My hand hurts.
Hah! My girlfriend does know latin, as it happens.. Tbh, I couldn't find any examples of purity seal text, so I'm just going for the Templar vows of old. Did a bit more work on the thunderhammer, instead of just test-soldering everything together. I really need to buy the perspex and stuffing now;
I may have bought 10-man squads of Reivers and Intercessors today... Also came within a hairs breadth of buying a Knight Warden. Damn but that was tempting!
Got the diffusing material. Just waiting on the perspex to make the heads, and some bits and pieces for the hammer handle. I need to finish the power block, which is going to give access to the arduino and the battery, and of course paint everything, and wrap the handle. I got some red pleather to do that with. I also need to decide on the pommel of the hammer. I can't decide between something plain, or something a little more.. 40k-ish. Like an upturned skull.
whatever pommel you go for...make sure it unscrews so you can end your opponents rightly nice to see the progress...if you not your GIF making progress... remember if you need and odds and sods running off the printer let me know, i just installed a new roll of filament so im all stocked up Also... Finally got the WarDog Titan in a position im happy with ( after several dozen shinpads, groinplates, 3 main bodies, several editions of the plasma cannon and 3 of the turbolaser ) also left a shinguard off to show the pistions and how they are ( not ) attached... no2 will be better as i have learned quite alot during this ones construction Just trying out Paint Schemes ATM, i love the Black / Red tho
That looks really accurate man. Good work! Also I've had a delivery of blue perspex, among other things;
Been painting this today; Makes me think of a Daemonette. Scale wise, it looks like a Daemonette next to the FW 6" marine..
That's very nice work. Do you use bristles or an airbrush on it? May i ask the manufacturer of the model as i really like it.
I did the purple flesh tone with an airbrush, everything else was done with a 000 or 2 size W&N brush. Well, except the drybrushing, that was a citadel brush! It was the Rise of the Shadow Lords kickstarter, I don't think they're entering production anywhere unfortunately. Clint Maclean, the guy who had them made (and did the models in 3D), may have some spares though so might be worth contacting him!
It's impressive stuff. If you have more pics in this thread i'll have to take a look through. Are you 40k or a fantasy player? Nuts but cool, thanks for the tip. It's a real shame when kickstarters that produce such quality can't fully get off teh ground.
I don't actually play anymore - I had to pick an expensive hobby to drop, and this one was the least used, so off it went! I played 40k and 30k, though. I tried fantasy once upon a time, Bretonians (I decided a fully mounted army bar 60 archers was the way to go - It was something daft like 40 knights) but never got along with it. There are pictures floating around this thread, I'm sure, but https://imgur.com/a/nqCO4 that's the last 'complete' gallery of my Imperial Fists army. I've never uploaded as many pictures of my 40k armies over the years as I did with the 30k stuff, so there's basically none of that online.
ahh yeah, it can get expensive. That's a sizeable collection of well painted minis (and not so minis). Thanks for sharing
Huzzah! My Primaris Chaplain has turned up after being stuck in postal limbo for a week. Did a swap with a mate in the UK. He got a shedload of Chaos marines and the new Death Guard from the new boxed game in exchange for the Chaplain and one other thing (yet to be decided) if they release anything else fun before the end of the year. I'm really hoping they release updated scout models.
Whilst the scouts are a separate unit still, it very much feels like the Reivers are taking over that role. After all, they do look like the scout models that we should have... I'd love to see some new scouts, especially given how well the new stuff fits together and how good the new heads look. (had a play with my usb microscope...)
So, apparently Forge World are going to be rolling out (or should that be hovering out?) a MASSIVE new super heavy tanks for Primaris Marines... https://www.belloflostsouls.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/40k-mystery-tank.jpeg New Tyranids and Eldar Codex are on the way too, with 'Nids being first.
