Omg my old computer is listed under devices in the Microsoft acc! Does this mean it will know my serial number or licence key whatever? It says windows 10 there

So, out of curiosity what is the current build you're going for?

Oh and as for when the time comes, you can do all of the windows licence stuff through a handy little chat window. Saves the cost of a phone call.

They will ask for remote access to the PC though. We had to do a similar thing with a mates build when he built himself a swanky new R5 build.

Here’s a link to the build.

I’ve forgone an aftermarket cooler because I’m not overclocking and to save money.

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Only thing I would add is instead of a Sata SSD I would go for an M.2 NVme PCi-E based one something like a 120GB Corsair Force MP500 which SCAN has for about 30 quid more.

The performance gain for booting and general system performance is pretty huge IMO. Other than that look pretty solid to me

Personally I would go with the B350 Strix. It has a much, much better sound card and amp etc.

Would only matter if using good headphones, if using sound with speakers in monitor through HDMI it won't matter.

That's one of the worst possible gaming experiences I can think of. Headset or GTFO. :D

I think you'd need to be very particular about your sound to really notice or care about the difference. I would only really say a step up to one of the ROG/Strix boards is worth it if you're gonna wanna do some OC-ing as the bios for these boards is usually a lot better designed for it. But then if that was the case you'd probably wanna look at a X370 instead of a B370 anyway....

It's not just that. The Prime is fugly and dated. Red and black motherboard? dunno, I would much rather have the Strix.

I would agree the aesthetics aren't great and I'm a massive tart, the looks of something i'm buying are high up on my list of priorities. However in this instance I think the budget is strict and taking that into consideration for a potentially non-tangible/noticeable benefit to the OP it would be better to spend the difference somewhere else...

So, I agree it isn't the prettiest board, but maybe OP likes it?

It's only an extra 20 quid, I would also highly recommend the STRIX over the Prime. It's a much better board throughout.

I stand corrected, in that case probably better to go with the STRIX. Sorry

It's pretty much a slightly cut down Crosshair VI Hero. In my opinion, the best X370 board on the market, but that's way out of budget and will not benefit the OP whatsoever. I only got it as I like high-end stuff. :D

I am using a headset for gaming ofc. The speakers on the monitor are just for backup I’ll probably get speakers eventually.

Thanks for input. Updated build here

I need to check reviews on 'Sama' power supplies, as I've never heard of them before... but the rest of it looks good to me. :)

I couldn’t find one. Maybe I should go for a more well known one? Can anyone suggest a decent 650w psu for £75 inc vat?

Found a review for Sama 800 w and it wasn’t good...

I'd go for the TX-M 650 thats only 3 quid more it's part modular rather than fully modular and corsair are a good PSU brand. I used to have one of the old TX one's (won off bit-tech no less) and even after 9 years it was going strong....
