I'm trying power a number of 2.5" hard drives . At one end I have a Silverstone ST85F-PT. At the other I have 8 x 2.5" sata drives fitted in 4 x 3.5 caddies. The 2.5" drives are effectively recessed so multi sata cables where the daisy chain is from left to right instead of in from the top basically wont fit. I've tried a number of approaches with various degrees of success, but all are a bit 'meh', e.g.: 2 x Silverstone CP06-E4 SATA Power Adapter Cable - too rigid cables work loose) 4 * Akasa AK-CBPW05-30 SATA Power Splitter - bulky - some cables work loose) They are fine cables, but they just don't work for me in this situation. I've (finally) found something that might work better: Phobya Multi SATA power cable (4x) This has a molex at one end and I still have to deal with the rather long power supply cable. 1) Has anyone seen a similar cable with a sata connector instead of the molex? 2) Ideally I'd want one with the correct power supply connector, then I could avoid the messiness - Is this something I could get made or would it be sensible to try and make one myself? Best Regards
Thanks, they look nice, but I think the connections are from the sides instead of at the end (horizontal versus vertical) and so won't fit.
Is this more what you want? Premium Ribbon Wire 5-Pin SATA to 5x SATA Adapter Cable Alternatively you could build your own cable: SATA Power Connector Strider PSU Connector (I think this is correct, you'll need to double check) Wire or Ribbon
