    Hi guys!

This is my first scratch build and also my first project work logs. Hope you guys can correct me if i bend any forum rules.

And also this is a personal projects so there are some restriction or lackness from my own side in case of materials and components used.

    This project is named Archeron.

It is based on one standing wall where all the components are mount on two layer 5mm thickness acrylic panel.

The base body is covered by mecha-like armor as sidepanel on each side which is at left and right side. Between two layer acrylic there are 10mm gap for cable management purpose where all ugly cable will be hidden.

The main color theme will be black and metalgrey/metallish looks. There are also weathered or damaged add on to the paint job as this was the main highlight of this build.

This projects is on progress right now and i will update any progress whenever i have time.

    Thanks!
Hope you guys can advice me or give any suggestion for this build.

    Some update on project progress

After my final design on the build is done. I spend some time for acquiring the materials will be used later on.

In this build i mainly used acrylic sheet varying in thickness
    -3mm x1
    -5mm x1
    -8mm x1

I try to find acrylic sheet with 10mm thickness but unfortunately at that time the hardware shop are currently out of stock. So i decided to proceed with 8mm instead.

    Cutting the main body

5mm thick acrylic is used for the main body part and cut with laser cutting machine.

This is how the main body looks after the cut

As the main body is consisted of two layer of 5mm acrylic,i used some 8mm acrylic spacer to create a strong gap between the body. Both layers are reinforced with m3 screws and nuts.

    Bottom base/Stand

I try to make a main body support exactly as designated but found out it was not strong enough to hold main body. Back to drawing board and figure out a new and also strong support for the main body.

The base i used is only 5mm thick acrylic so does the main body holder at the top. Maybe i need to use a thicker acrylic. I will update the result of the new stand.

    Thanks for following!

    New stand for main body

    Hi guys

Here are some update on the failed stand or base of my scratch build.

I decided to use a broader bottom base and thicker main body holder for stronger support.

It seem my sidepanel holder are not that strong enough so i change it. i change to 12mm acrylic tube stronger and more decent looks than previous square acrylic holder.

Neat! You could add a sliding GPU bracket to the tubes. I think some perpendicular panels in the gaps would look good too.
"Kangaroo pants" - I need to get my eyes fixed.

Good suggestion. Will try experimenting that too :dremel:. But if it steel tubes i can make it happen right away. This acrylic tubes i'm not sure can hold that much gpu weight. We will see

Love it! :thumb: It came out great. The silver/wet sanding looks a lot more realistic that just drybrushing silver paint on.
