I'm currently on a mission to create a quieter PC.

I have noticed the one thing that seems louder than anything else is the PSU. I have a suntek standard 300w PSU at the moment but i have no idea if this is a quiet or noisy model, or possibly just average.

I've been looking at Zalman Power supplies and they claim to be silent.

Can anyone tell me what these PSU's are like and if theyre worth the money and if they're likely to make a difference.

One last question i take it all PSU's are the same size and will fite all cases?

    Thanks guys

Personally I think I am going to get the new GlobalWin SAF-520W Silent PSU @ 22dB or possibly the (also new) GlobalWin SAF-520W Sapphire PSU @ 19dB with bl00 LED lit fans and case with windows...

Yeah, I agree they are not cheap, but all the reviews I have seen say they are excellent, they are only supposed to create 22db of noise (19db if you get the slightly more expensive one with windows and bl00 LEDS), and they are just so shiney

If it was me, i'd be investing in one of the Xaser III designed PSU's - equally as silent as the other ones, SATA power connectors, adjustable speed with a blanking plate, and they're in a rather cool colour scheme (Black with a bit of red+white iirc). :thumb:
