Actually I drilled into an empty whisky bottle to pass a cable and turn it into a table lamp. I did not know about the tempered glass though, so cheers for the tip.

The article mentioned that there are better tools/ways to cut a big duameter hole into metal, than using a holesaw. Does anyone know of such tools?

 

hole saw are the best use for cost above that you need to be doing a lot of holes or repetitive work to make punches or press cost effective
