Hello after looking at cex I've come to conclusion I have no idea what is good value i5 Ivory Bridge or sandy i5 2500. I've seen all sorts but I can't work out whats best bang for the £, Google seems to show hardly anything about the Lower End Ivy Bridge performance. Would a 3340 work well? Or should I just spend £3 more on a i5 2500? Or is it worth going higher? I'm only look to do light gaming on a gtx1050.

    Thanks

IIRC the 2500 is the faster cpu [on paper at least]. and for the sake of £3 i'd proably opt for it over the 3340.

The i5 and i7 T or S chips would be sensible targets but rarer and thus more expensive.

Handy if you got some old gadgets you don’t need for trade in. Plus the warranty is supposed to be good although I’ve not needed to test it.
