The logo (or whatever it is) on the side looks like a naff tattoo.

    Anyone got a sick bag?!

I mean, seriously... it's quite an achievement in itself to make something as simple as a stick of RAM that ugly.

I opened the link just to see how ugly it is. Looks like a cheap kids toy from a pound store.

Why is there an ugly novelty pen resting on top of the ram?

    No.

    No Adata.

Bad Adata, go to your room and think about what you've just done.

So many silly bling gimmicks aimed at "gamers".

Can we have some straightforward, bling free, high performance hardware, aimed at those of us who deliberately choose to use a windowless case?

No. No, you can't. Well, you can, but it's all server stuff.

At least with a windowless case you don't have to see all the aimed at 12 year old COD players XXX1337omgwtfbbq69roflcopter designs.

Aye, but in my experience there are even fewer standards than desktop hardware (and that's just in a few generations of HP servers). You'd have a hard time mixing and matching anything more than the memory and HDDs.

I was going to ask why it looked like it came from the set of 'Big Trouble in Little China', but I see you guys noticed a problem too.
@graphitone - Were the dell/HP racks as proprietary as the desktop servers were?

Isn't that Corsair LPX ram with it's simple low profile black heat spreaders? Some nice simple mother boards with plain heat sinks would be nice, but then again just turning the lights off does that for a lot of them.
