Looks absolutely stunning! But, and I know it's not your fault, but that slightly offset pipe from the CPU to the GPU just breaks my heart a little.

If it helps, Linustechtips recently tried to see how far they could get a GPU from a mobo using extension leads. They managed about 3m / 9ft.

What are the benefits to a vertical GPU installation in an upright case, other than aesthetic ones (and possible space efficiency with small cases)?

As long as the GPU is securely mounted in the case, having it vertical will be less of a strain on the mount.
Horizontally mounted cars (motherboard vertical) are quite often seen sagging at the rear under the weight of the card and cooler.
This will potentially strain the PCIe socket and motherboard, hence the recent addition of metal PCIE covers on some of the higher end motherboards.
That said, the same would be true with heavy CPU coolers in a vertically mounted motherboard.
I am in the process of swapping my ITX rig into an SG13, and one of the benefits there is the GPU is vertical, (less strain), and has access to cool outside air as it is next to the side of the case.

1.8Kg? Bill, that's a lot of cooling kit! No good for me and my SFF aspirations

That's heavier than my CPU cooler (a shade over 1kg), and that was fortunate enough to come with extra bracing. The poor PCI-e slot that has to deal with 1.8kg.

I've also just realised what the vertical slot is on the back of my case as well. It'd only fit a single slot backplate though, unfortunately.

Are you familiar with the NCASE? I'm experimenting with a vertical GPU mount design. It will limit your choice of Heatsink / Fan Combos to models under 70mm tall, but will present new layout scenarios for DIY liquid cooling.

Yesterday I had the thought of making a micro reservoir to mount on the bracket alongside the GPU, but that presents challenge of where to mount a pump?

That case and the mount make me wanna do a small form factor water cooling build! But sadly i just finished VUE 71, and i'm designing a scratch build next. Will have to get one of your vertical gpu mounts tho for the scratch build.

I cheated, and bought a mATX cube case, so the motherboard sits horizontally.

@I&W, lemme guess, CaseLabs or Lian Li? and I've noticed the influx of new cases by several manus with vertical mounts now.

@BU5H W00K1E, mention post when ready, we may have voucher code for discount, https://mnpctech.com/contact-us.html

Nope. Thermaltake Core V21. Very happy with it.

Ok, those are very unique design.

Carlos Fractal design Nano S with Vertical GPU looks good!
