    Hello!

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas how to get a GTX690 working. It works fine for a while when idling away or watching a movie and will eventually freeze but launching a game will freeze about 2 minutes in. I stripped the card back and cleaned all the dust out and applied new thermal paste

I bought the card second hand and surprise surprise it doesn't work. If any one knows any tips, tricks or fixes please let me know

    Thanks

Where and when did you buy it?

The only thing to suggest is to lower clock speeds and see if it still happens.

The card idles under 40 degrees so it's quite cool running both with and without the side cover. I've tested it with 3 PSU's 1x Toughpower 650w, 1x Toughpower 1200w and 1x Corsair RM1000i.

Only bought it about 2 month ago on Gumtree I will try lowering the clock speeds but maybe the pcb board has a hairline crack

Nice one, it's always a good idea to use DDU when swapping cards.

Surprised drivers cause this much issue as I've always uninstalled old driver before updating or installing a new card, I was running Assassins Creed Origin for a while and let the card heat up to around 70 degrees no problems but run an old game like GTA 4 and it will crash eventually but i can still get back to the desktop. I let the card run for about 10 hours without freezing up which is good news
