Bought an Asus P5Q-E off eBay. supposedly working.

Have tried two different LGA775 processors coupled with a Be Quiet!Dark Power Advanced PSU+Bfg 9800GT PCIe graphics card+OCZ HPC Reaper OC2-8500 ram sticks, out of the case before I build it, to test it is in fact working---no POST.

Any ideas what may be causing this before I contact eBay to ask for a return?

    Thanks for any replies/help.

What voltage is your RAM rated at? There used to be a lot of issues surrounding RAM that was 2.1v+ in order to boot. You used to have to insert another stick, set to 2.1v and then shut it down. Then insert your modules.

I had similar issues with an Asus board of the era. When using 8gb ram you had to insert/reboot one stick at a time. DD2, as well.

Take all of the memory out then clear CMOS with the jumper (or a button if you have one). Then try and boot it on a single stick.
