    Hey all,
i've been planning the mod for my chieftec full tower case for quite a little while now and i can not for the life of me decide on the best way to mod the front panel, it's the only part i cant decide on.

This is the panel in question :grr:

Basically what i want to turn the above panel into the panel below
(Use your imagination , the shoddy paint pic is only a guide :hip: )

Those grey circles will eventually be turned into blowholes using stereo speaker airvent thingos...... if you get what i mean :p
They have to be over to the left because of the position of the fans in the hard drive racks. (if i was really adventurous i'd move em, but i'm only gunna look into that if i get desperate) :dremel:

After reading this great log, i have a few questions about the stuff that was used to fill the holes.

Basically, i need to know what sort of texture this stuff turns out like, dried plaster of paris? Regular Plastic? or how easy it is to cut. (if at all possible)

i've considered other avenues including plexi moulding etc, but thought this would provide the best end result.

Any thoughts, suggestions, whatever ....... please

p.s. sorry about the size of the pics.

imo i think it would be cool if you kept the zig zagy bits (bit in the middel) within the bezel and mounted the fans behind it.

Keeping the main bits black and doing the zip zagy bits either white or a light gray. Or you could steal che colours in about to use and to black and a really deep green.

Unless he has 3 or more exhaust fans, he is adding heat to that case..... with 5 intake and all..

nice, not original, but still nice

After much thought and consideration, i have decided to just re-locate or replace the two hard drive bays and re-work the whole front chassis
This will make modding the front plastic panel soooo much easier.
now all i have to do is find a decent looking hd rack

I'm going to do similar with my Antec Performance+ chassis, cutting the whole bottom front out of the steel cage, and replacing it with a new plate, probably riveted in place. No idea what to do with the grills yet though.

    oooohhh , i just had a good idea (well i think so , and that's what counts :p )
screw another hd rack, i could just use hd caddy's (it's not like i'm short of bays :baby: )
Then that give me HEAPS of room for watercooling in the future :D

Time to start hacking this biatch up........ more :dremel:
