Its a plane transfer system for convicts, so we have a Nicholas Cage look a like wandering round the office being miserable.

    EDIT:
On topic, I received the second tranche of the book money t'other day... which is coincidentally almost the exact same amount I need to give HMRC at the end of the month. Yay self-employment(!)

Anyone clear this up for me, I'm looking for a button which turns on when you apply force then once released stops the circuit. Bahhh

Would that be this? Momentary SPST NO

Single Pole Single Throw - are you sure you're in the right thread? Is this not better in the tech help thread?

Single Pole Single Throw I think. Essentially Single input, single output Like an on off switch.

That is a momentary (i.e. is only switched while your finger is on it) single-pole single-throw (i.e. opens or closes a single circuit) normally open (i.e. is an open circuit when your finger isn't on it and a closed circuit when it is) switch, or to put it another way exactly what you're looking for.

See also: single-pole double-throw (has two closed positions, no open positions), double-pole double-throw (two SPDT switches that switch at the same time), and so on up the scale; maintained, or latching, switch, which stays in the position you chose instead of resetting when your finger leaves it; and normally closed (NC), which you'll be amazed to hear is the opposite of normally open.

Yep that's it. It will a momentary switch Evolutionsic is looking for, like a PC on/off switch perhaps. Not looked but there will be loads. Depends on your mounting, size etc. of course.
