    Hello,

some of you might wonder why I´m working on a second Punisher Mod?

At first I was sure that The Punisher was finished.

Well, after a while I felt the need of revisiting this Project since I wanted to change some details.

This "Remod" will contain some major changes and I think it´s for the best to create a new thread for this Upgrade.

    Concept:

The Remod will maintain its industrial look while gaining some extra details.

The Design will look a lot "cleaner" and also maintain a high quality, custom Water Cooling..

Did I forget anything? Yeah, right. Some of the hardware will be upgraded, a Punisher has to be prepared for every challenge and daily task in 2018.

“You hit them and they get back up, I hit them and they stay down”

    Philosophy:

Every modification is performed through hard work, by hand, without the use of automated processes like eg. Laser, CNC etc.

I try to work as precise as possible and also to document my progress with great care and details.

Whenever it´s possible, I will also develop and build all electrical circuits by myself.

I won´t use prebuild stuff like eg. LED stripes if I´m able to achieve the same results by using my ingenuity.

I would only use this kind of stuff if there isn´t any alternative possible to implement my idea.

Expect everything you could from a guy who has the drive to hold on to his visions.

    And here´s the first Update:

Do you remember the door? I decided to make a new one. Not everybody seems to like this type of material.

Luckily I had some spare material from the Hardwareluxx Modding Contest 2017 Project which had a suitable colour and was also sturdy enough.

Now I like it a lot better. The hole is used in order to adjust the pump speed.

I cleaned the Window since I need the space for something big.

How about engraving something like this? Just create a suitable template.

Find a suitable position. I still want to see the other guts, this is why I have to use the lower part of the glass.

    Start with the edges.

    Proceed with smaller details.

Now it´s starting to look decent.

    Some more engraving pleasure.

Just in case you wonder, I didn´t forget the "Marvel" emblem.

The motive looks cleaner and better without it.

    Quite big, eh?

And with the LEDs turned on.

That´s it for now, soon I´ll proceed with the guts.

    And here´s another update:

I received this big package a few days ago.

I want to thank AORUS for the kind support and for the trust.

What´s inside? A X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI Mainboard and a fast Gigabyte UD PRO 512 SSD.

Let´s have a closer look first before using these Goodies.

    Start with the SSD:

512GB is more than enough for the OS as well as some games and other applications.

    I like the dark colour.

    And another picture.

I can hardly await to test the performance.

Just wait for the upgrade first and I may post some Benchmark results too;)

    Now the other Goodie:

This Mainboard will replace the old Intel platform.

I wanted to try something else this time since I was quite satisfied with the Ryzen system I got during the Hardwareluxx.DE Modding Contest 2017.

I´m sure that a X470 system is more universal.

Let´s check the Mainboard. Awesome looks, especially the heatsinks used for the voltage regulators.

Dark looks and plenty of RGB too!

You can barely find a Mainboard which uses functional and effective heatsinks instead of simple blocks made of Aluminum with some stickers attached to them.

I´m confident that the voltage regulators won´t suffer inside the rather small case.

There´s quite a lot of stuff inside the box too.

    Let´s have a further look.

Some stickers. Some of them look pretty good and I like the cable stickers with the different heads.

The usual stuff like a manual and the Driver CDs etc.

    And some more accessories.

I like the fact that this Mainboard has 2x external sensor inputs.

How about upgrading the Water Cooling in order to measure the water temperature directly.

Why not adjust the Fan Speed by using the water temperature as a reference?

    OK, let´s move on.

Which CPU will be used? I´ve decided to use a AMD Ryzen 2700X and bought the Boxed version.

Now what could go wrong? Highend Mainboard as well as a Highend CPU.

It´s a lot easier to attach some of the coolers outside the case.

I´ve mounted the CPU Cooler, also kept my 32GB RAM Kit.

That´s it for now, there´s a lot of work to do since I have to change some details before being able to fit everything inside the case.

    Stay tuned for more details.

The time has come to update this thread again.

The new hardware is in use now, though I had to adjust some stuff for it to fit.

The standard USB 3.0 plug didn´t fit anymore since the connectors are hidden between the 240mm Radiator and the Mainboard.

Since I didn´t find a suitable adaptor cable, I had to figure out something for myself.

If it does not exist, or you cannot find it, do it yourself!

Cut the plug, use a saw to cut the connector casing in order to reach the contacts.

I had to solder every cable again but in a way that the "new connector" could be plugged in this time.

I used some hot glue in order to stabilize the contacts and the cables.

Just use some black insulating tape to hide the mess.

Does the plug fit now? Yes and the best part is that it is also well hidden now.

Does it also work like intended? I copied several large files without any errors and the speed was not affected as well.

The new SSD has been mounted and this time I used some longer SATA cables since I can improve the cable management as well.

And let´s have a look at the second chamber again.

Looks great with LED lightning too.

I had to remove some Stickers in order to clean up the looks of the case.

And what about the main chamber?

The Water Cooling is connected and the system is functional.

    And some further details.

Some of you might have spotted the temperature sensor cable which is attached to the Water Cooling

Now I can also adjust the Fan speed by using the water temperature as a reference value.

    And here´s another one.

The new engraving of the window looks nice in combination with the LED lightning.

I´m really happy with the new looks.

Is this Project done now? Not really, still some work to do as well as some upgrades.

Windows 10 runs a lot smoother and the CPU is overclocked at 4.2Ghz.

That´s it again, stay tuned for the next update!

It´s been a while since my last update since I´ve also been busy with some other project.

    Where shall I start?

The Mainboard uses 8+4 Pin Connectors for the Power Supply of the CPU.

At first I only used the 8 Pin Connector.

Since the Power Supply doesn´t have a extra 4 Pin Connector, I had to do something about it.

    Why not build a upgrade?

There is quite some current flowing through this cable, this is why I´ve split the load on different connectors.

Was the upgrade worth it? I overclocked the CPU @ 4,2 Ghz and it seems that the Vcore is a lot more stable now.

What´s this? Something to prevent the sagging of the GPU since the Water Cooler is quite heavy.

This is the Prototype I designed in CAD and built with the help of a 3D Printer.

Looks decent and works as intended.

And what´s this stuff? A DIY Power LED array. I used white LEDs.

This LED array will only be used when I´m in the mood.

I´ll use a switch to turn it on and off. The GPU will provide the Power Supply for the LED array, this is why I used a connector from a broken graphics card.

Looks pretty nice and the wiring is well hidden.

First test, very bright as expected. Why would I need this LED array?

The LED array will be used to improve the lighting of the engraving.

Don´t worry, I´ll clean up the glass and the case later.

Cooler Master was kind enough to send me a small upgrade.

Thanks again for the thrust and the support.

What is it? A nice Cooler Master V750 Power Supply.

It was a nice idea to send me some sunglasses too since the lighting of the project is really bright ;)

The Cooler Master V550 Power Supply I used before was OK too but now I have a even stronger 12V rail which is great since I might upgrade the CPU later.

In case you wondered if I modified the new Power Supply too, yes I did it.

As a reminder: Power Supply Mod

    That´s it for now.

The DCMM 2019 is over now, time for another update.

    I participated with 3 Projects:

This is something I built a few years ago: A DIY DAC and a sound sensitive RGB Light Organ, also developed by me.

The Light Organ changes the light color depending on the frequency.

It looks really great when playing some rhytmical music.

The Light Organ is also meant to be used as a stand for my DAC.

This is my idea of a special keyboard: Something a Engineer, Maker or Modder could use.

I designed the Upgrade in CAD and used a 3D Printer to build the parts needed.

Is this a "Show Mod"? No, I use it every day on my main computer.

I could also create some Project Logs with extra Details though I have my doubts that you guys want so see something which was not meant for gaming in the first place.

Now let´s show you some pictures of my computer.

Many visitors liked it and recognized the Theme without any trouble at all ;)

The DCMM was really great, many friendly people and some nice Projects.

And the conclusion? The DCMM Jury rewarded my efforts in the "CE Mods" category with the 2. Prize ;)

    That´s it again for now.
