I was just going to congratulate Belgium who showed their age and experience and who were by far the better side.

Humility in winning I see is not a saying in Belgium? :p

When your nation's other notable sportsman is Stoffel Vandoorne you need to make noise when the chance presents itself.

They did make monkeys out of England though, just in case there was any hope lingering about from Wednesday.

My lunch: baked potatoes stuffed with cheesy mash & bacon lardons (bake spuds, scoop out insides, mash, mix in cheese & cooked bacon lardons, stuff the spuds, back in the oven for 15-20 mins to melt).

Takes over an hour and a half to get ready but so worth it.

Technically they're not really lardons since it was lean bacon, but you know what I mean... :p

And this is the perfect weather for a nice, hot baked potato as well.

I hope you followed it up with a big mug of hot chocolate.

Watching the entire presentation party get well and truly pissed on, while Putin smiled smugly under his brolly. No one cared though, everyone smiled on regardless.

Was a definite penalty, Perisic swiped his hand down and across in a very unnatural way. Unnatural unless your objective is hitting the ball with your arm that is.

That is a lovely picture for retro gaming - not that you can really capture that on a photograph; it's far far better than hooking up to an LCD.

Slightly tempered by the fact that my Atari STe's joystick port #2 is faulty. Seriously what penny-pinching idiot puts those ports - which are directly mounted to the keyboard PCB - on the bottom of the computer and doesn't bother with any strain relief? Nah, let's just solder some bent pins directly to the keyboard PCB and save money on connectors! I lose count of how many times this computer will have had those connectors re-soldered. Once I've repaired it I'm getting an extension cable as soon as I damn well can.

Book submitted. There'll be tweaks and changes post-review, and more post-layout, but the actual meat of the work is now done. Which means, barring anything going horribly wrong, I get my weekends back at last!
