My friend gave me an old meter for some electronic device, with 66 yellow LEDS. All i plan on using are the LED's, but dont know for what. Dunno what voltage or anything, too, cause my multimeter is gone :wallbash: !
Any ideas of what i can do with these?

Solder them together and stuff them into a 230V plug... Nah... please dont otherwise I'll be sued ;) Anyway, you can put some underglow under your case...

Make some cool yellow flashy thing. Mount them all around the sides of your bezel and use a circuit to flash them around...
    Yellow is quite unusual.

perhaps they explode when exposed to massive over voltage?

Did i mention there are like 10-15 resistors for the LEDs on the board, so when i want to prevent this type of activity, i already have what i need.

Anyway, im thingink of for now putting them in one huge series and letting them light something unusual, like my glove compartment in my car, or light under my stereo reciever.
I dunno, just looking for inspiration

like the clock idea, by the way, but acutally i was wondering how hard it make a circuit that would light the led's in accordance to CPU load. Guess that would be tough. I dont really know anything about making circuits though. Any other ideas?

if you want something to controll the LEDS after CPU load, the circuit won't be wery difficult. However, you will need software to controll it..

I think you should test to see how many volts it takes to have one catch on fire :hip:

ok, i know what im doing. although yellow leds are dim, 66 of them in a big circle will be a nice light for my room or whatever. Ill get around to it as soon as my soldering iron comes back from my friend
