Yes, you can use the mesh. It'll keep your fingers nice and safe ;)
So you wanna stick two fans on top of each other? If so, are you going to bolt them to the top? If you are, you just have to use slightly longer bolts and there you have it

Aluminium mesh available from auto/car repair shops?!
Probably cheaper than buying "specialised" modding supplies too

If you go to an independant garage and speak to them nicely, I'm sure they'd be willing to cut it for you...

(I would think that the larger shops/chains would be more interested in selling bulk or prepackaged amounts)

    Re: ok

Side by side/next to each other?? Just make sure there's enough room underneath the mesh if the main bodies of the fans are going inside the case??

You MAY need to use some washers depending on the size of the holes, but yes that should be possible.

Making sure the mesh is slightly larger than the hole its covering, you could either stick direct to the inside of the case with glue or glue some bolts to the inside of the case near the edge of the hole, attach the mesh on to the bolts, and screw the nots over the ends of the bolts??

Use bolts similar to this (but make sure the thread goes all the way up to the head of the bolt) - and then tighten from the inside of the case by screwing a nut on to each one...

As for the mesh and the loom, yes you should be able to get them both at your local auto shop.

I personally wouldnt attach the mesh using bolts as it will sag.

Attach the fans using 4 bolts and attach the mesh using a glue or body filler. The advantage of bodyfiller is you can tidy the edges and make it look neat. Then paint.

With patience you could get something like

    this

Body fillerand mesh can be bought at any automotive store.

No you dont need to use plexi, mnpctech just decided to use it on the application I linked to. Thats the great thing about modding you can do what You want.

Body filler also available at the auto shop where you'd get the loom and the mesh.... very convenient.

Also you wouldn't have to put plexi as well as the mesh, but that could solve the sagging problem
