    Congrats!

Had a nice evening with Tre, and weather that thinks it's August. Winner.

I'm rather envious of what he has planned today. Hope it's fantastic fella :)

Just putting holidays into my phone's calendar.

So over the next 7 months:
    That's 1.
    That's 2.
Oh yeah then there's number 3.

We're also looking at fitting in a weekend away in between holiday 2 and 3 as it's quite a long gap.:lol::lol:

Sat here all the doors and windows open with a waft of cow poo, whilst listening to my headphones. Have had a lot of time to reflect, and think about all of the amazing holidays I had here as a kid. You cannot put a price on that.

I'm fine dining tonight too. Can't wait. What a lovely week I'm having.

Bit too nippy up here to have the windows open and unfotunately the poo variety is more likely canine than bovine :)

Haha. I did laugh earlier when sat in the steam room. I remembered a dare to smoke a cig in there. You can guess how that went.....

Suspecting that the 7900X you bought on eBay for $266 as untested is a fake ...

But on the brighter side of life, things are just peachy and I go on holiday in less than three weeks. :D

Whilst annoying, it will only cost the other guy money and you get a free mystery CPU.

I hope it works out that way. I need to do more investigating before concluding that thought. :)

As the shutter on my Ricoh GR has gone wonky and I'm going to buy another one anyway, I decided to try a fun little idea I had a while ago and attempt a full spectrum conversion.

Not wanting to splash out >€100 for a proper filter replacement from LifePixel, I replaced the internal hotmirror with some clear glass I cut out of an old Nikon filter with nearly the same thickness. The thickness was about ~0.3 mm off, so I wasn't sure it would work, but I'm glad to see the GR's focusing mechanism has enough range to compensate for the slight shift in focus distance.

So now instead of a slightly broken regular camera, I have a slightly broken pocket-sized full spectrum machine. Noice!

Visible spectrum + infrared + ultraviolet:

Also awesome is that 720nm infrared filters now only cut out 1 stop of light instead of the usual ~12 - that's a ludicrous 2048 times brighter! Making IR pictures of moving subjects and without a tripod is finally possible.

Can't wait to experiment some more in the coming days.

That's freakin cool man! I dig it :) I'll get a reasonable camera some day.

I got home OK. Phew. Had a very upset tummy this morning but 30mg codeine sorted that, and my confidence so I didn't need diazepam.

Got lots of pics of my holiday, will upload soon and bore every one :D

    What a week....
Chilling with our own V-T on Tuesday evening, an amazing day out on Wednesday with my wife of 20 years celebrating our anniversary with a surprise lunch and a day visit to No Man's Land Fort in the Solent - it was flat calm and summer warm; absolute bliss.
@David - I could see the tallest building on the Island (allegedly) , Ryde church spire...
If that wasn't enough, my wife has taken us to London on the train for (another) surprise trip - 2 nights away in a 4* hotel without the children!
This is to celebrate my 50th birthday next week (yes, I know the party was 5 weeks ago...).
We walked from Waterloo to Borough Market, had an amazing Ethiopian street food lunch, walked along the river and had champagne at sunset on the viewing terrace at the Shard!
I'm now washing down a meal at the hotel with a 4th alcoholic drinki of the day - unusual for me!
I'm quite overwhelmed and feel so fortunate to have found someone to put up with me for so long-even late night PUBG sessions in the next room to where she's trying to sleep, and my daughter doing the same the other side...

Spending the majority of the day with some of your best friends at their wedding. What an amazing day with some beautiful people. :)

Downside: work needs me in at 10am as I’m the one who takes care of our regional offices... not getting home until 1am or later will make for a rough morning. :D

Back to the upside: I have my 1080 Ti sitting in my truck and I’m making good progress with my table. What a good weekend. :D

I picked up a piece of brisket at the supermarket yesterday.

It is currently in the cast iron casserole pot cooking slowly with onions and stock.

    My house now smells delicious.

    ETA 16:30.

Went for a house viewing. Yeah a compromise here and there but the view across the shallow valley is awesome.

Think an offer will be going in, not at asking though, it's a bit overpriced in reality.

Oh and fibre is available. Big tick. :)
