Scratch Build – Complete ⭐ Light Blade "It's still cool to air cool !

That was my very first thought too, this case needs a white power cord.

Not sure if it is just the effect of the pictures, but I'd almost say you need to add some lights to the top of the case, the area is looking a little dark in some photos. As I said could just be a trick of the photos. It is a great looking case

 

the lighting effect was already beautiful, but now it is even better!!! (I love how the colors mix smoothly)

 

GOD i love my routers im sure i have the only LED back lit routers in existence

20mm!!!! im sure i have some bits thicker than that ... chews up blades fast....

No tricks it dosnt throw much light off the top at all... but where the case will sit it really dosnt need too.

I actually started the original box with top fans as well the later changed it as it was a waist. But since the holes are in the first build i may just go with it

Naaa i'da been havin fits years ago if i was..... man i've been making LED's flash since back in the 70's........ i'll tell ya a funny LED story about it one day.

This is what happens when you have "too much" plex to play with.... Toying with ideas , lines, overlays and more bending practice... chuck in a touch of hypercar style madness!

Purely for looks atm and not functional in any way.... With still a few for bits to bend up and panels to be added , then i'll "re-style" the outer to suit the inner a bit more


Front fan enclosure

The first thing i did was to "box" the fans.... the way they were just sitting on the panel did look unfinished and not very "defyant like"
The original fan plate/panel was given a rounded back



The idea is the fans can just slide into the new housing






The the whole unit can be placed into the case , i may add some sort of ribs/lines.... not sure yet.

Pretty simple to start with... initially i did a bent version... but as yas will see... 0.5mm out and the whole plan wasn't going to work...

See! This is what happens when you don't fill the case up with watercooling parts, kids. Next thing you know, you are hosting a Japanese custom van club.

 

At this point how many case can be built with the cast offs? And I am sure they still will look amazing.

Cheers DC ty again mate There's still a ways to go on this and with every new upgrade to this one i get ideas for 10 more ahhh the plex pile is deep!

 

Well it ain't a Defyant mod if it's not disco!

I want this new cover to have some disco but wanted to keep it refined and to the side fins only with NO bleed thru on the side panels.. and thanks to Cheaps i also decided to go full Jap and add some front light !!!

A quick test to see if i could get just one fin to light was a win.



Next was to do all 4











Not too sure about the light bleed into the floor.... but the free underglow is a bonus

 

Nah, the bleed is good! Work them hot spots, baby! I think you just found your contrast tool. It definitely fixes the blurry rgb blob issue.
