The Pi Hut and ModMyPi are the two current stockists in the UK.

WOW, is it just me or are rental cars stupid cheap in the UK? Managed to get a five-day rental for as much as one day cost me this summer in Italy.

    Fingers crossed for the roundabouts.

As Gareth has pointed out, got mine from Pihut.

I'm only using the Pi for TV/DVR via the TVHeadend channel in plex. My actual plex server is much more powerful.

So do you just have the pi setup for the TV/DVR part and is it then passed over to your plex server via the network? I saw these hats and was thinking about grabbing one and then pointing the pi to my plex server.

Pretty much, the Pi is connected to the network and TV aerial that's it and It runs Tvheadend. Adding the LiveTvh 'channel' to Plex means that I can view anything it picks up live. The DVR side of things is a little more 'janky' the recordings are done through the web, but I've got a few series linked for download which works fine, they do need to be downloaded into a folder manually for Plex to access them though. Not perfect but it does work and seeing as we don't really watch a lot of normal TV it suits our needs perfectly fine.

Just have the recordings save automatically in a folder which you then add as a TV type library...?

That is ultimately what I wanted it to do, and admittedly I've not had much time to look into the various options but on first glance, there is no default download folder for the web client, it simply opens the system save settings when you select download selected recording.

When I get time I'll dive into the options on the actual Pi because they have to be saved locally on that, so there must be an option to change the download folder.

Yeah no doubt they are saved locally and you could have a rsync script to copy the folder over or have it scp each file (use certificate based auth) in the folder and delete the local one off the pi.

I've never driven in India but I get the impression that the general rule is that if it's bigger than you get out of the way?

    Not a bad rule. :)

If it's bigger or goes moo then it has right of way. Got a friend over in Nepal at the moment and he is doing a charity ride into India today. It'll be mostly Royal Enfields (of course), but my mate will be on a Harley that he managed to find out there. He's done it before and ridden on some scary roads in the Nepalese mountains, but he still worries about Indian roads.

Motorcycle riding in India is absolutely harrowing. Would not recommend, except perhaps on holiday in some easygoing place like the backwaters of Goa, Kerala, Pondicherry and the like.

Or if it's driving down the wrong way, or if its waving a firearm, or if its...

Defensive driving in India is worthless. You've got to drive like you've got the biggest swinging jackhammer on the road, or you'll never get anywhere.

After watching the short stints of Top Gear's India special that were on busy roads. Yup. It looks mental, and like a great way to have a lot of accidents.
