But then again I populate computers with vomit brown fans.

"I don't like RGB so NOBODY ELSE SHOULD EITHER!!!"

I get so tired of seeing this opinionated drivel. Don't like RGB? Don't buy it. If everything has RGB though? Turn it off. Don't care about aesthetics? Buy anything you want and stuff it in a windowless case.

It is literally that simple. Stop crying about it.

Otherwise, those of us who actually want the aesthetics as much as the performance welcome (in theory) the additional thought into the visual side of contemporary hardware. RGB or not, dummy DIMMs are a great idea to balance out a build, because sometimes empty RAM slots really break the look. Only by virtue of my projects being ITX based do I have no use for them.

Addressable LEDs are a step too far for me personally (I don't want my lighting to move), but if you think RGB is about rainbow vomit disco lights then you have missed the point.

    Oh calm down.

When an article states 'everyone' then everyone is entitled to express their view even if you disagree with it.

You give a good account of why you like it, good for you.

    Merry Christmas.

That's great. But the pursuit of aesthetics means that functional components (e.g. high performance DIMMs without cosmetic heatsinks, GPUs not coated in oversized plastic greebles, motherboards without actively harmful m.2 heatsinks over m.2 slots, motherboards with actual damned heatsinks on hot components, etc) are not merely rare, but not actually available.
When cosmetics have crowded out efficient & functional (and in the case of motherboards, actually more effective) components entirely, then people are going to complain.

I would stop complaining if I could get hardware without LEDs, should I so desire. Sure, I can turn them off, but by then I already paid a premium for something I didn't want from the start. That's my main issue with it.

The article was flamebait an opinion piece designed to provoke discussion.

People have different opinions to you.

It is literally that simple. Stop being so fugging prissy about it.

I wouldn't restrict that to just my 'tache, though.

In all seriousness, own an Asus or Gigabyte board with RGB 'goodness' - pester them to close down the malware attack vectors in their software.
