Scratch Build – In Progress Boba

Even before the end of the year, we wanted to start with a new worklog. This time we´re going to build a bust of one of our all time favorite villains: Boba Fett

Off course he will get his rocket backpack and a blaster!

And it will be that big that we could easily take his Beskar'gam (the mandalorian armour) to wear it as a costume

Beside that we´re going to integrate a mini ITX X299 platform together with a Nvidia RTX 2080 TI and a custom Water Cooling Loop.

We already started the building process a few weeks ago and also the Hardware already arrived.

So we want to send out a BIG thank you!!!!! to: Nvidia, Asrock, Seasonic, Alphacool, Intel & Medion for their Help and Support on this Project.

We plan to finish our build in the beginning of February so that we could take it with us to the Dreamhack Germany were the next German Casemodding Mastership will take place....

And here is a first render of what we´re planning....

and the first Parts which are already glued & welded together....(now there are only approx. 350 missing)

 

Neat. The name plate seems kinda redundant, though. Print builders should keep track of the spool mileage for bragging rights. You guys in particular might have used enough to span an ocean already.

hehehe....yeah i think we should do this.....but up to now ....it´s only a small ocean (only 80-100 kg in the last year)....

As next we speed up the printing process with our 2nd printer. It had some problems which we first had to fix before we could start printing parts on it too. But now as the problems seems to be fixed we let both printers do their magic.

So we already printed the helmet and the most parts of the body...so that we could continue with the jetpack and arms as next.

Beside the printing we´re welding all parts together, so that we can start the sanding and add bondo to get a smooth surface as soon as possible....

 

In the last weeks we printed the parts for the Rocket Backpack. After printing all parts we welded them together....and also started the sanding process. As next we will put some bondo in it and start the next phase of sanding.....





Beside that we also finished the printing Process for both arms and already started to assemble them as well....

 

That model didn't scale very well. -Especially the gun.
