It's why the most google'd term around the referendum was 'what is the EU'...

Most people had [and still have] no idea what the EU is, does, or how it works... and that is [and was] easily exploitable...

Look at how many people think [or were led to believe] that the European Court of Human Rights was an EU institution. Look at how many still do, including a certain Mr Corbyn.

I'm watching BBC Parliament live on a second monitor. I don't know why I'm doing this but I can't help myself. The only outcome of this is that I'm going to get angry and yell at the TV. But I still can't stop myself.

And the Withdrawal agreement is dead by a margin of 230 votes... biggest government defeat in history.

    No surprise.

Vote of no confidence to follow but the DUP won't back that.

Fan on full power waiting for the doodoo delivery.

On the one hand I am pleased that Brexit is being stymied yet again. On the other, well I'll quote myself.

If Comrade Corbyn does collapse the government that will leave 33 days between the election day and a no deal scenario. If the Conservatives drag the whole thing out as long as they are legally allowed to there will be just 16.

    Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick,

But if 25-ish back benchers vote against her the DUP won't matter (assuming Labour, Lib Dem and SNP all vote against her unanimously).

This is me with nearly everything on TV. I even got angry at a horizon the other day and had to turn it off.

    Same.

Thankfully my good lady has done her best to ignore it. I said i'm ready to make placards and block the door if they come with a EU National collection van.

How many Tories wanted a second ref again seems there best chance to get one.

I think the EU would say yes to an extension so I don’t think running the clock down is that much of a threat.

Tories talking about going back to the EU...

Give me strength, no, this is reality. In the EU or leave with no deal. Put that in a referendum.

I know, radical, two choices neither of which include added unicorns.

Gaining an extension will require an act of parliament, which can only happen with a sitting government. So either the motion is tabled and passed before the no confidence vote, or after Maybot survives (ha!) or after a new government takes power. If they hold the no confidence vote tomorrow and she loses it's poop on rotary implement time for everyone other than the Mogg brigade. At best it's two week before it can be tabled again, at worst it can only be tabled after the General Election, which is a 16 day window.

To be fair it was announced today before the vote that Junker has already cleared his schedule for tomorrow, of course that doesn't mean significant concessions from the EU will be forthcoming as those would need to be approved by all member states etc.

I may be wrong but it the Tories fail don’t Labour get a chance to form a minority govt who could also delay it.

I can't abide the woman in all honesty (no guessing to whom I refer to), I disliked her as Home Secretary but in the last two years - she has proven to be as adept as a chimpanzee attempting to perform a sexual act apon a rugby ball.

I would tend to agree with this.

    True.

Although they've also said they're not changing the Withdrawl deal, to be fair that's been their stance from the outset.

As for Labour, well, a GE? Jog on. We haven't time and it'd be another hung Parliament no doubt.
