Dogging, pagan style. :p Still a more sane spectacle than today's Parliament.

I'm expecting us to slip on a banned bendy banana and fall out of the EU regardless.

Technically possible, but the only way they could do that is with the SNP and Lib Dems on board as well. 265 seats isn't nearly enough to even try forming a minority government but 302 might be. Of course the only way to get them on board would be promising to put a stop to Brexit immediately, which he won't do, then relying on some Tory rebels joining in to get that magic majority, which won't happen because Labour has hardline Brexititis as well.

Well they would have to have support from everyone else including the DUP to pass a vote of no confidence so I'm not sure how far they would get. But if they did get in, Corbyn will probably pop over to Brussels, ammounce he is negotiating a "Jobs Brexit" and then demand that they change the agreement to make the UK subject to all EU labour law in perpetuity. And he's obviously get that change! Then he's out double quick before a GE as then he doesn't have to stand on leave/remain as we'd be out. (And screwed even worse than the current bad deal).

They'd be OK, except unable to pass anything unless the had the DUP and/or Conservative rebels. And it's one thing for a Conservative MP to vote again his government whip, but a totally different thing for them to prop up a Labour one.

May is incompetent but Corbyn is an absolute idiot. First he points out how the Conservative Party's priority has always been the Conservative Party, then he threatens a motion to remove them from power. Guess what they're going to do, Jeremy! Oh, you need a clue? Fine, Colin McRae.

No but if it’s painted as the only way to delay Brexit and prevent no deal can see them jumping on board initially before a GE is called.

I wholeheartedly agree, welcome to the current state of British (UK) politics.

That is indeed what they say, except it isn't really true because they also don't like any of the alternatives (no deal etc) to the May deal... so they could swing to a 2nd ref to break the deadlock and thus avoid going through the whole shenanigans of Corbyn trying to form a government.

But that requires Corbyn to show that he has any plans to stay in the EU which he's opposed at every point over the last 43 years or so.

Nobody wants a no-deal, aside perhaps from the ERG and similar europhobic extremists. The EU will not re-negotiate the terms of the withdrawal agreement. Let's assume for a moment that, as is highly likely, the confidence vote will favour the government and that there will be no second referendum; exactly what progress will have been made?

At this point I find it really difficult to see a way out of this hole. MPs are still trotting out the tired old "will of the people" BS at every opportunity they get, so I find it extremely unlikely that a bill for a second referendum would pass (let's just ignore for a moment the fact that dragging us into the biggest political decision/upheaval of the last three decades on the back of an attempt to appease right-wing elements of one political party in an advisory referendum beset with lies, disinformation, half-truths, false promises, and outright financial fraud is already a subversion of our democratic processes and traditions - we'll just leave aside that inconvenient thorny little issue for a moment).

David Cameron has truly f'ed us, more so than any porcine companion he may or may not have had encounters with.

Made all the more galling when we know it's not the "will of the people" because of the illegality of the campaign, we know Vote Leave and others broke electoral laws and under any other circumstance that degree of criminality would've been enough for a rerun.

So the government has unveiled its top secret plan B:
Squabble over the definition of cross party talks (that according to Leadsom) won't include Corbyn because his ideas for Brexit aren't clear enough:grin:

    Pure f***ing genius...
