    Really not a surprise that they would scale back Cortana's level of integration with main systems, after all, it's only three and a half years since she tried to take over the galaxy.

    From '62 to '82, I think. I know my parents had an '81 one when I was a kid. That thing was a tank.

    ...

    Cortana was nice on the Windows Phones. It was a shoehorned in pointless curio in a desktop OS. I still hope for the day when Microsoft actually allows users to decide "I don't need that bit, I won't install it, or that bit... or that bit..." I'd end up with basically File Explorer and DirectX.

    @Paradigm Shifter - RIGHT? I don't need effing candycrushsaga and xbox to run my mill.
    At the very least, they could compile all the checkbox control into one place. -Maybe with a toggle from "win98 interface/full control" to "win 10 idiot mode."

    I've still yet to get an explanation why someone at Microsoft okay'd naming their virtual assistant after an AI that, ostensibly, goes insane (Or.. Rampancy, as per the game lore) in the latter years of their deployment.
